Update: Bought an SCT Xcal 2 and right before New Years, I read the codes, flashed the car with a Crown vic tune, then turned it back to stock. Haven't had the light come back on yet (knock on wood). Even the P1000 code went away. My gas mileage still isn't as good as it used to be, but...

    SCT Xcalibrator 2 Questions...

Thanx ForPointSex. I will go there and see if I can get such a file. I am not really concerned about a performance tune, just a basic that I can do small changes to. I wasn't aware of the Strategy Flasher till after I had the XCal2 already.

    SCT Xcalibrator 2 Questions...

Clarify locked. The one that I have is not locked so far as it has the prior owners tunes on it which I can program my car with. I can read codes and datalog which can be done if it is locked or not. But I can not modify the tunes on the device nor make changes to my car other than flashing...

    SCT Xcalibrator 2 Questions...

My 2c. I bought a used XCal2 and was not aware of SCT's business setup. This is not a bash or anything negative about SCT, but a buyer be aware. If you buy a new one, you are good to go. But since the one I bought was for a different car, the tunes were of no use. If I want a tune, I...

The light came back on. No doubt I am still having the random misfires. The TPS adjustment cured my loss of low end when I am not misfiring, but whatever the problem is, it is still there. Whether you are right or wrong jstreet0204, it is something I need to be sure of. I mentioned it to...

If so, how would you go about this Randy? Would you replace all 8 at once? What does a set go for btw?

Not so fast Gearbanger. To correct myself and as not to confuse others, the TPS was less than .8 volts. BUT, even though I kept my bottom end, my light did come back on today, about 60 miles traveled before it happened. Curiously, it came back at the same spot/distance as a few times before...

Thanks for the input thus far fella's. I checked the TPS and sure enough, it was less than 8 volts. Adjusted it, light went off this morning. Will see if it holds out. But if anything, I can feel my low end is back. I don't know anything about the EGR, so does anyone have a link handy to...

I had #3 replaced around 35k. But there was a code that said that cylinder. Do you think that all 8 went bad at once? I watched the MDS and it really was random misfires, all banks. The computer may clear itself and then maybe after 50-70 miles, SES is back on. "Sounds like you may have...

Problem: Engine has random misfires, no torque below 3k (have lost ~4 mpg), and as seen by looking at spark plugs, appears to be running lean. Have 57k miles. The car has been at my buddies shop a few times and that is all the computer can tell him is that I have random misfires, no other...

Get zapped when getting out of car

Just grab any metal part of the door or car before you step out and while you are getting out, this should ground you well enough so you don't get shocked. Works for me.

    Stainless brake lines

They should be the right ones, as the number on the package matches the # that Goodridge says is for my car. I am wondering if maybe I have a midyear change with the brakes or lines.

    Stainless brake lines

I bought Goodrich stainless brake lines and mechanic said they wouldn't work. I just went to the shop and he showed me. The Goodrich lines have a 3/16 flare nut whereas the hardline on my stang has what looks like a metric fitting and it is larger so it doesn't even come close to screwing...

    Seafoam is teh *****!

I used Seafoam right after my oil separator install. I used the extra fuel line hose as the straw; wedged the can of seafoam between radiator and battery, ran the xtra hose from the intake into the can. There was a lot of smoke. Was fun actually. I smoked screened some kiddies who were on...

    Dumped the Mach 460

No, no surround sound effects. It sounds as though the same speaker (passenger door) blew out again. It has no treble and too much bass. Is there a way to verify the system, as finding out if the amp is good or not?

    fuel Filter question

Just did mine this past weekend and followed the instructions from the bullitarchive link. I just pulled the line without relieving pressure and enough gas ran down my arm for me to put the line back on and then use the shrader valve. I spent more time putting the car on ramps then I did...

    Removing foglight lenses?

The housing is there, but the bulb and socket are gone. The wires come about 6 inches away from the housing. Maybe placing blame prematurely, as it may be possible that the socket untwisted from the housing since I replaced the bulb a month ago and somehow lost it while driving, but looking at...

    Dumped the Mach 460

Ugh. I bought these Sony ones, http://www.crutchfield.com/S-dAP4HjnEijp/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=400&I=158XSW5721 and sure enough in the specs, it says 4 ohms. I am certain I didn't cross the wires when installing as I more than quadruple checked that I didn't. So now what do I do? The...

    Dumped the Mach 460

+1 on the link. WillDuhhBeast, here is a fun one for you: I am audio ignorant. My passenger side door speaker sounded like it blew out around 20k miles. So I replaced the speakers in both doors. After installing, both of em sounded like ***t for a little while. The drivers side seems...

    Removing foglight lenses?

Not to hijack this thread, but since we are on the topic.... I am missing the drivers side socket. After looking at the wires, it looks as though someone cut them and took the socket&bulb. Will I have to order the whole $200 Ford fog light kit in order to fix this?
