    Pulling my preorder

Just make sure you test drive the 2.7 base engine before you buy it. That seems like an awfully small engine for such a heavy car. I have heard that the larger V6 is a good compromise. Decent acceleration and gas mileage (and probably lower insurance for you too.) Enjoy...

    Buy a V6 or V8???

When I was buying my 99, money was tight. I went back and forth for a long time between the V6 and the V8. Well, I bought the GT and I smile every day that I did. You will too.

Finally got some new shoes for my Stang!!!!!

I agree... Nice car and GF. What size are the tires and rims?

what do you do to store things in your stang?

I replaced my head unit with one that plays MP3s. I then took out the old CD player and replaced it with a box that holds 3 CDs, but since each CD can hold the equivalent of 12 regular CDs, I don't need anything else. I used to have a visor holder and it was ok but I like this a lot better...

Anyone use manual as daily driver?

I'll Chime in. I have driven my 99GT for 100k miles in NYC traffic. Bumper to Bumper traffic is bad, but I really enjoy the early morning commute when the roads are almost empty. I am currently looking for a new daily driver and will probably get an automatic (My wife can share the car...

    2005 looks nice,but,

I saw the show Saturday. I was also a little disappointed. I think part of the problem was I really wanted to see the red coupe, but they only had the silver one there. I don't know where they say there is more room in the new stang, it still looks like no back seat... I will wait until I...

Should I Trade this sucker in?

Sorry to say that if you still owe 13K on your car, you are upside down on the loan. I doubt you will get that much if you trade it in or sell privately. Keep the car for at least a year and try to pay it off. Wait till the initial feeding frenzy is over on the 05 and you will get a better...

    squealing/whining problem...please help

My car was also doing this. Just had the Belt and Tensioner pully replaced. So far it is great.... We'll see how long it lasts. Check the tension on the belt. If it is a little loose,it might slip when cold and then start to grab when the engine warms up.

How many 99+ stangs here have over 50K miles-->>

I am just under 100k on my 99GT. Still runs strong. Original clutch (Probably have to be changed soon) I had to have the Trac-Loc replaced. I had it done when I went to 3.73s (Thank you Mustang Magic) Change the oil every 5,000 miles with Mobil One. Doesn't burn a drop. Otherwise...

Anyone with 3.73's wish they had gone w/ 4.10's ?

I also have the 3.73 and I am happy with them. When they were first installed I noticed a big change over stock gears but now I am used to them. I am not planning to go to 4.10s because I hope to add a SC some time in the future. I will probably get a new daily driver someitme this year and...

    05 Leather

I have a 99GT with 100,000 miles. My leather seats are great. Look almost new. I don't know what problems everyone else is having, but I like the quality of my seats.

    Anyone going to NYC autoshow

My son and I plan to go. Short LIRR ride for us. We have gone to the last 2 shows. Had a great time. I want to check out everything, not just the Mustangs.

    Cobra Brake Upgrade

I got the Buttitt Calipers with the 13" rotors about 2 years ago and I am very pleased with the results. (I am due for new pads soon) One Note: Just so you don't get an unpleasant suprise. Your compact spare will not work on the front anymore. So you can either get the spare from a Cobra...

    Oil change every 3k miles...

I have used Mobil 1 every 5,000 miles since the car was new. 98K miles and counting. Runs great and still doesn't use any oil between changes.

    Tall Drivers need not apply?

I am only 6'0" but I have plenty of room in my 99. In fact, I don't have the seat all the way back. The '05 should have a little more room since it has a longer wheelbase, but you'll have to actually sit in one to see how it is laid out. Other cars that supposedly have more room by the...

An intresting article on the 05 in the Winnipeg Free Press.

I would love to see the IRS as an option. I really want one, but a Cobra is out of my price range. Hopefully Ford will get the message.

GOT TO SIT IN IT... and TAKE PICS!

Two quick quetions about the seats. Did they seem to have more lateral support than the current seats? What is that little button on the left front drivers seat? Is it for the lumbar support or heating??? Thanks for the great pictures.... I won't get to see it in person until the April...

    With or without foglights?

Personal Taste.... I Love the fog lights..... It would be an added bonus if they actually worked better also.

    The $20K V8 thread

I just had a thought. Everyone keeps saying the current GT starts at $24K. But that is not the whole story. For the last year Ford has been offering up to $3,000 rebates on the GT so the "real" sticker price is closer to $21K. If they make ABS and Trac-Loc options, they could get the...
