    305 hp?

The Mustang does not use the LS / T-bird platform. However some changes were made in 2007 to strengthen the unibody. More welds were added and some of the sheet metal parts are thicker. You are correct that the changes were made primarily because of the higher HP in the GT-500.

Is this the 2008 Bullitt Mustang?

This seems to be the 08 Bullitt Mustang, cameraflaged in red. Looks like it has, no spoiler, a grille without fog lights and a special emblem on the rear (taped over), all of which are confirmed for the 08 Bullitt. Also note the unique Bullitt style wheels...

More Accurate - Speedo or GPS?

Every Ford I've owned (and there have been a lot of them) had speedos that read about 2 MPH higher than actual speed when the tires were new. Aa number of years ago C&D tested a lot of vehicles for Speedo & Odo accuracy. While they found all the odo's to be very accurate, virtually every...

    Just bought an '05 GT

Glad you love your Fox. Unfortunately for you, the rest of the world has moved on. If Ford was attempting to sell new Fox Mustangs today, the Mustang would disappear as the Fox is not a vehicle that would sell in the auto market of 2007. While I do agree the S197 would be better if it were...

Thanks for showing us what horrible "investements" cars are, including Mustangs. For example, let's take a 1971 Mach 1, Sports Roof with 351CJ engine. Reasonalby equipped that car with sales tax would have cost about $4,000 in 1971. To have it worth $30,000 today (excellent condition) you...

Well as I said, S197 Mustangs will hold their value far better than any old 4 door sedan or SUV. But as stanmckinney pointed out, other than a few rare models, nobody is going to get rich buying a new S197 today and hanging on to it for 20 years. I was around in the 1970s and back then 1960s...

In 1978 I passed on buying a 1967 GT-350 with 35K miles for $3,000 because it needed about $2K of work to restore it & I thought I'd never get my money back. :bang:

They will be collectable only in the sense that 20 years from now many people will want S197 Mustangs while no one will have the slightest interest in a 20 year old 4 door sedan or SUV. If you asking can you could own a S197 today and make a profit selling it 20 year from now? The answer is...

Sold my Mach and ordered a....

Glad to see someone who owns both a SN-95 and S197 at the same time come to this conclusion and post this opinion. :nice: I love my SN-95 GT, but it's a relic of times past. From my seat time in 2005+ Mustangs I totally concur with your assessment " the new platform is light years ahead of...

    Release Date for New Mustang?

Bullitt is supposed to arrive in December 07. There is supposed to be either a Boss or Mach for Model year 2009. And that's all there is until the next generation Mustang comes in Model Year 2010.

    Release Date for New Mustang?

The order banks are already open on the 2008 Mustang. I believe the last day you can place an order for a 2007 Stang is May 16. 2007 Production ends June 23 2008 Production starts June 25 If you ordered a 2008 tomorrow, you should get it late July - early August. Very few changes...

Seeing that April 2007 Mustang sales were the worst in 10 years, I'd say we'll see 0% APR on the 07 Stangs very soon.

    Any 2005 GT's for under 20,000??

This is interesting... I hadn't checked local dealer inventory in a long time. I had to check several Ford dealers before I found one with an automatic trannie. I found about 60 manual GTs and only 3 autos! In any case when I check pricing on the "My Plan" (A-Z plan) web site...

    Any 2005 GT's for under 20,000??

Yes the "Great Offers" web page says $1000 retail cash + $645 bonus + $995 bonus but as far as I know the $645 & $995 cannot be combined, it's one or the other based on the price of the auto trannie on the sticker. What you need to do is go to a dealer and have them plug the offers for the...

    Any 2005 GT's for under 20,000??

Hmm, where I am you get $1,000 rebate on the Mustang GT. If it's an automatic GT you get either a $650 rebate or a $955 rebate . The reason for the 2 different auto rebates is because Ford lowered the price of the automatic trannie a while back. Which rebate you get depends on what the...

    Any 2005 GT's for under 20,000??

The dealers are out of their minds with used Mustang prices. I just checked, X-plan pricing for a new 2007 GT Premium Coupe is $25,917. And the $1,000 rebate has been renewed until July 2. So I could buy a new 07 GT Premium for $24,917 (+Tax+title+reg). That's less than $1K more than most...

    2008 options

Grabber Blue & Amber Gold are not 08 colors. They may be planned for the Boss SE in 09 or they may have been a trial baloon that's been dropped. One new color is Vapor Silver, I already forgot what the other color is. And there will be Dark Higland Green for the Bullitt SE mid year. Edit...

    Any 2005 GT's for under 20,000??

Just checked the local auto swapper. A private sale 05 GT with 16K miles is listed @ $16,995 including 20" wheels. Only catch is it has a ZEX wet nitrous system on it. I wouldn't touch that one.

    Any 2005 GT's for under 20,000??

Was at my local Ford dealer yesterday. They have the same used 05 GT MTX sitting on their lot since August last year! They're asking $23,995 for it - looks like a GT premium with no other options, 10K miles. I bet it'll still be sitting there the next time I stop by that dealer in 4...
