    Power steering pump replacement

Ok so magically it started working after about 60 miles of driving. Pump is much louder as well.

    Power steering pump replacement

To add, at idle and not moving the pump whines for 6-10 seconds then off for 4. Counted and the off time is consistent, whine time is variable. When I was bleeding it the whine decreased in duration and loudness as I went through the procedure but eventually stopped improving.

    Power steering pump replacement

Replaced the pump, car runs but no power steering. The whine is less which is nice but it's more constant that the other pump which would make noise really only when turning. Used ATF type F. With car up I first tried lock to lock on the steering wheel about 20-30 times, barely any fluid came...

    Power steering pump replacement

Hey guys I've spent the past day or so researching but just want to get some last minute opinions. Mine seized and I have a remanufactured one from Autozone; just need to get it up and running. Obviously I'd like to get rid of the whining noise but that's a secondary. I've had no luck finding...

Been A While Since I've Been Here But I Need Help, My Mustang Died!

Still haven't had much time to get any further. Drove it to work yesterday (Monday) and it felt like power was missing at various points of throttle and generally felt sluggish. I adjusted the timing when I got home from 12-14 to ~10 hopefully and today it felt like it at least pulled when I got...

Been A While Since I've Been Here But I Need Help, My Mustang Died!

Ok so the TPS was one of the first things I replaced and I checked the new one using the sensor wires to make sure I had 5v and that it was reading between .5-1v; it's reading .6 something at idle last I checked but I will check it again. I haven't tested the resistance of the wires as described...

Been A While Since I've Been Here But I Need Help, My Mustang Died!

Something else I forgot to add was that my fan doesn't come on until one mark below redline on the temp gauge. I replaced the ECT I think, the one on the top of the lower intake near the fuel rail.

Also I wanted to ask about the EGR regulator, there is a California emissions version which I think I have. There is the regulator and then some kind of plug extension in it that the connector plugs into. Mine was partially broken and I was able to get it apart; it just looks like an extension...

Been A While Since I've Been Here But I Need Help, My Mustang Died!

No MSD. Found part of my problem to be several vacuum hoses. The red and green to the egr regulator, both had melted spots from hitting the egr tube. I replaced both along with one that went from the tree on the driver side to a T on the passenger side. I had also forgotten to reconnect the hose...

Been A While Since I've Been Here But I Need Help, My Mustang Died!

Yes and no. I replaced the TPS since I was getting a minimum voltage of ~1.45-1.6, I also replaced the TFI. I can't remember at this point what I read that made me decide to try that but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the original one I replaced. Either way the car will start and run but it...

Been A While Since I've Been Here But I Need Help, My Mustang Died!

Yea I tried joining another mustang site that seemed more active but was having issues with login credentials. Anyway as it stands now I've replaced the PCV simply because it has been a while, changed the coolant sensor on top of the lower intake because I've had issues with the fan coming on...

Guess this forum is dead, at least not even close to what I remember.

Been A While Since I've Been Here But I Need Help, My Mustang Died!

Got a PCV valve as well. One thing I noticed is that on the lower intake there are 2 spots that should have connectors, one is the fan switch sensor and the other is for a hose to the coolant. Where my fan switch single wire should be is my hose connector and where the hose connector should be...

Been A While Since I've Been Here But I Need Help, My Mustang Died!

Update - Got the car home and into the garage, bought several things to start working on it. Did a fuel pressure check with the car running and it showed ~38psi although the stupid gauge was leaking a little. I also pulled codes; key on engine off I got code 11 for both the immediate and...

Been A While Since I've Been Here But I Need Help, My Mustang Died!

So last week Thursday I was driving to work and all of a sudden had a serious loss of HP. All gears accelerated like my 4th gear used to. Shortly after I replaced the distributor cap and rotor, oil change with filter and an exhaust gasket since I noticed after the power loss that there was more...

    Air Vents Randomly Lose Output

Hey guys it's been a while since I've been on here but I have this weird problem. I was using the ac on normal on the second lowest setting, then after a few hours into my drive the air output went down to the point where max ac on high blew no more air than normal ac on low. There was still...

Towing 90' Stick Shift - Need Quick Advice

Sorry, I thought the part about using the upper shaft was an explanation but beyond that I couldn't answer. Gearbangers response is what I've been told numerous times including the Chilton's manual for the car and makes sense. The Chilton's specifically states not to go more than 50 mi and no...

Towing 90' Stick Shift - Need Quick Advice

This site gave some explanation; "We went through this when looking to tow a Cadillac CTS. The way it was explained to us at the time was; a manual transmission traditionally has two primary shafts. If they use the lower shaft for the output it's towable, if they use the upper shaft it is not...

Towing 90' Stick Shift - Need Quick Advice

91 - The reason as I've understood it is that even in neutral in a manual transmission, there are still some of the gears spinning and not getting lubricated properly as they do when the car is on. It makes sense but then again I don't know the internal workings of these particular...

Towing 90' Stick Shift - Need Quick Advice

This isn't me being bent on doing it my way just because I provided some documentation to a manufacturers instructions to use those mounting points. I was simply bringing that up for more clarification on your position. I don't find it wrong to assume that what the manufacturer is indicating is...
