    Florida Panhandle Install

Used to be stationed in Pensacola. Check with Lyle from Smith's High performance out of Milton. He did my friends 99 GT, no gear whine at all. If you go to Holt (Emerald Coast Dragway), he's the one with the superfast rail car (4.98-5 secs). Thomas

    Tire pressure in road racing??

I'll probably get flamed here, because everyone thinks that Nitto is the ****nit, but. If your serious of going road racing/autox'ing/open tracking and staying on your same daily driven tires, go with either Sumitomo HTRZ II's or Yokohama AVS ES100's. Much better tires for what you're...

    Home made adapter plates

No, no gaskets. Just an 1/8th inch bead of RTV. The black stuff that looks like it came from easy cheeze.

    Home made adapter plates

Unfortunately, I'm deploying in 3 weeks to the Arabian Gulf (and other various places which I'm not allowed to talk about), so I'm going to have to let that idea go by the way-side. I did install them, with both sets of gaskets, and it leaked fluid. :bang: Tore it apart again, and saw the...

    Home made adapter plates

Started by drilling the bolt holes first, then cut the NPI side, and trimmed to the PI.

    Home made adapter plates

Well, as the title implies, I made my own adapter plates for installing a PI intake on my 98. Reason: Infamous craked intake. In case you missed the previous post (kinda hi-jacked at the end), here it is: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?p=4216438#post4216438 I've had some...

Thanks for all the replies... I'm starting a new post on the install (intake is off, and plates w/gaskets are lined up)...

PI Intake Swap Alternator Bracket fit problem

Finally done. Took the same amount of time to make the second one. Almost killed myself with the router :bang: . Anyways, I don't think I'll make anymore as my dremel is about done (man, what I would give for a cnc machine. Just wanted to show everyone that it can be done, if you've got a...

    Found crack today

Go for the PI intake swap. Alot of people have used RTV to get the ports to seal up, but I've had bad luck using it. Had I known I would have gotten the Livenios kit. A little pricey, but since Ford wants 583 for a replacement manifold, it's worth it. They're claiming 35rwhp  from...

PI Intake Swap Alternator Bracket fit problem

Took me 5 hours to complete the first one. We'll see with the second. I've been using a dremel, a drill and a sabre saw to cut the metal. I'm going to see if I've got a metal bit for my router tonight and hook up the table, so maybe it'll go a little faster. I've already got the bolt holes...

PI Intake Swap Alternator Bracket fit problem

Half way done with the first one. It's going pretty easy, but I'm using the wrong bits. They're for wood. Got to go to the store to pic some more up, and will also get batteries to take pics and post... 1/4 inch aluminum. Hopefully, I can re-use the original bolts. Should be done with...

PI Intake Swap Alternator Bracket fit problem

Called the guys this morning. He said that his adapter plates absolutely will not work with a stock intake. He didn't give the reason why other than the intake in the $650 kit is "machined". I'm not sure how thick his plates are, but I went down to the metal shop today and picked up some...

PI Intake Swap Alternator Bracket fit problem

Don't get the PI gaskets. The rear water jackets are completely different, and WILL leak as soon as you pour water in. Too much so that silicone won't fix that.

PI Intake Swap Alternator Bracket fit problem

Who makes them? Where do I get them? How much? edit- OK, I saw them. Emailed. Kinda expensive, and at this point, I think the wife is going to want to go with just the replacement (aluminum runner) intake for the 98, and try to return the PI intake.

PI Intake Swap Alternator Bracket fit problem

Swapped my intake last weekend. Notched the bracket with a dremel and a tungsten bit. Question- How the hell did you get the intake to mate up and seal. I've installed it twice so far, and each time it leaked. I applied silicone where the company who sold it to me said, and it leaked...
