Charger and Mustang SHARE best muscle car award??

It's not really fair to compare Charger sales to Mustang sales, cause the Charger loses sales to the 300 and Magnum. Just like it wouldn't be fair to add up the sales of the 300, Magnum and Charger and compare it to the Mustang. DC has a huge hit with these LX platform cars, just like Ford has a...

Charger and Mustang SHARE best muscle car award??

Interesting. I didn't know there was a SS way back in 1961. Learn something new every day. :nice:

Charger and Mustang SHARE best muscle car award??

Drive one and you might change your mind. But I agree about the name--they should have called it a Coronet or Magnum sedan.

Charger and Mustang SHARE best muscle car award??

Nope, "muscle cars" are, by defintion, Mid-Size--ala 1964 Pontiac GTO. Some people will say that the Crysler 300B was the first muscle car (back in 1956). Some will go back earlier. But most give credit to John De Lorean and the 64 GTO for creating all the hype (in 1963 you could order a Max...

Charger and Mustang SHARE best muscle car award??

The new Mustang GT is an awesome bang for the buck--no one has anything close for $25k. The only "true" muscle car IMO is the outgoing GTO. I wish they had made the Charger a two door but oh well. The new Challener should be cool (and I'd probably call the Challenger a pony car, too, though it...

Charger and Mustang SHARE best muscle car award??

Well, even with four doors the Charger is lot closer to being a "muscle car" than the Mustang, which is a pony car. In fact, I'm not sure having four doors disqualifies the Charger from being a muscle car. A muscle car is simply a mid-size American sedan with a high performance V8, marketed as...

    passenger air bag issue

Definitely the sensor. But I kind of wonder about this thing--so if you are in heavy braking before a wreck and your passenger's weight slides forward, the airbag is disarmed, and then you wreck with no airbag for your passenger? Kind of makes me wonder...

    Ford officially announces the GT/CS

I don't understand appearance packages, either, but they seem to sell. Cheap and easy to bring to market, too.
