    1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 fastback GT350 clone - $17500 in SoCal 90066

Hi all, I used to be an active member of the forum here back in the 2001-2005 time frame. I have have this car for over 9 years. I don't really need the money, but I just don't drive the car anymore and would like to see it go to a good home. This car is a great driver, it was my daily driver...

Upgrade to high-rise dual plane(Performer RPM), holley DP?

double post.... Also, the Holley DP is supposed to be pretty hard on gas, if it matters.

Upgrade to high-rise dual plane(Performer RPM), holley DP?

For the time it takes to do and the cost of gaskets, I wouldn't bother until you do the cam/heads anyways. You will have to pull the intake to do the cam, so you might as well wait. If the motor doesn't see 4500+ rpms currently, then there isn't a huge advantage. Also, I have heard the...

    GT40P heads in a '67 289 'Stang???

To answer the question-- it's hard to say. You will lose compression since the heads you have are 54cc and the gt40p are about 60cc, but they out flow the 66 heads. http://www.jason.fletcher.net/tech/flowdata/castiron.htm http://www.stangpro.com/html/articles/gt40p_files/gt40p1.htm...

    4-wheel disc brake question

Wouldn't a 1967 MC be set up for either drum/drum or disc/drum? You might want to try a MC made for disc/disc.

    Bad Vibrations

Sounds like clutch chatter. Was the flywheel resurfaced when you replaced the clutch? Did you put thread sealer on the crank/flywheel bolts?

    thermoelectric coolers...

They are expensive and inefficient. Water/alky injection works pretty good for turbo setup, and is cheap and easy. Good idea, but just not practical--sorry.

    Flowmasters

I got rid of my original 2 chambers. They sounded awesome, but they were really loud. I went with the Dynomax super turbos-- they are too quiet and sound wimpy at idle. Wish I just left the flows on... A friend of mine has 50 deltas on his 69-- they sound really good.

    Hydraulic clutch

I'd rather switch to all late model stuff (fork and pivot) anyways. It looks like the $225 kit come with a braided line. They aren't that expensive for a short section like that, at least I don't think they are.

    Hydraulic clutch

I thought about it, and I still may do it. At this point I still have the old z-bar setup, so I would need to get the late model fork and pivot first. If I have the tranny out, I'd probably make my own bracket. Still a decent deal from the looks of it though.

    Hydraulic clutch

You didn't say what tranny you are running. Anyways, I saw this yesterday-- cheaper than the JMC kit http://raeracing.com/catalog/

    96 Cobra 4 Trade for 65/66 Fastback

If if was a black 94-95, I'd consider it (plus cash of course). Good luck. This post may get locked.

    steel bradied brake lines....

My firewall flexes quite a bit when applying the brakes. When looking at those power brake conversions, you will notice that many come with a reinforcement plate.

Got mine from the junkyard. They cleaned up really nicely.

Rear Disc Brakes for a 69 Mustang

Rumor has it that 89 (probably any late 80s - early 90s) Crown Vic rear discs bolt right up to a small bearing 8" or 9" rear end. It looks to be about the same as the explorer setup, but with the small bearing pattern. I've seen this info on 2 other forums now, so I'd look into it.

    U-Bolt size?

I can only guess that you have a 65 by your username. Next time give a little more background info. anyway, for a 65 with a stock 8", you will need 2.5" U bolts. You could have just measured what you got to be sure. Some parts stores do carry them-- I saw some at pep boys.

    8.8 inch rearend in a 65

Pretty sure all the 8.8s out there are a few inches wider than a stock 65 rear. 65-66 rear is 57.25" and the 8.8's are 59"+. I haven't measured too many myself though. Also, the fox mustang ones are 4 lug. The truck/suv rears have offset pinions. I wanted to do the 8.8, but the 9" was so...
