I had this same problem. It went on for about 3 months before my check engine light came on. The code was for the cam position sensor. After some research I decided to change out the alternator first. ( this can screw with the system and throw a cam code) The problem went away.

I would guess it's because it stops light from being seen from behind your car. I think if it was all clear and you were driving down the road the guy behind you would see the bulbs. Temp them up backward if you can an look at it at night.

Just take the other door apart and see how it looks when attached. This way you can see if you can just get a part from the depot to fix.

I still have a set of these new in the box. I think I bought them off a deal from these forums. The company dissolved not long after i got them (prob why so cheap) and didn't put them on the car. Figured cheap part + company gone = I'm not going to risk it. Maybe I'll throw them on this summer.

If there is a trac- adapt box it should be located behind the gauge cluster. But now that i think about it you should be able to turn it back on with the Tp button - the trac adapt just remembers the last setting pressed - so it looks like you have an issue with trac control or it was turned...
