    I think I figured out an area where I can do a nice WOT hit and immediately shut it down and pull off to check the plugs....Here is my question: Is it ok to pull a couple plugs while the engine is that hot or am I risking damaging the threads in the heads?

    I am not "sure" of anything. LOL...I bought the engine already built but unless the builder screwed up the timing chain shoudl be solid..the engine only has about 10K total miles on it

    The TDC, rotor and balancer shoudl all be good...I had to redo the distributor a few times to get it right but i will try asnd recheck it

    I have yet to check the total adevance because I haven't had a second person to assist with controlling the throttle. I am going to try and work that this weekend since I will have someone to help The distributor is the steel gear verson for an '85 GT...The carb is practically new but it did...

    As for the "sluggish" part it just didn't immediately jump to life when I mashed the gas like before I changed the plugs..and froma dead stop previous it would roast the tire, whereas after the plug change it just spun a little and then grabbed if that makes sense.

    Yeah I really don't have anywhere around here to do a good WOT pull and then shut down and let it sit until it cools down to pull a plug...Unless with the iorn heads it is ok to pull the plgu while still hot.

    So the popping happens after a WOT pull and I am completely off the gas..about a second or so later it gives one good POP out the exhaust...It did this when I had the other plusg gapped at .050 and at 18º...then when I turned the timing down to 16º that went away until I put these plugs in at...

    I as actually going to buy those yesterday but the auto store i went to had a set of the same style Accel wires on clearance for ten bucks so I got those instead and will install this week sometime

    I am gonna grab the plugs today and try and install them int he weather holds I also did not mention that I have a MSD ignition and blaster coil...The distributor is a stock type however..not sure if that affects choices or gaps

    OK so Autolie 25's over the NGK U45? I only had these delco's in there because where I live finding decent plugs in a pinch is a PITA lol Gap tighter like .045?

    I am not sure why I gapped them at .050...They don't seem to be buring overly lean so maybe gap the new plugs tighter like .045?
