    Wheels-Tires Basset Rims

Dan, I would go ahead and use that Wheelrite and assume that your spindle will be sitting another 5/8" deeper with the narrower uppers. Then see where everything ends up. The 15" wheels with a zero inch offset and 3 inch backspacing should fit fine and have no issues with the factory calipers...

Progress Thread '78 Ii Rising From The Grave

Looks great! Is that single stage Acrylic paint? I've been reading up on the Rustoleum 'brush-on' technique which looks really nice if you have the body smooth and if you have the required time to buff it back smooth after each coat.

    Tachometer Question

Hopefully you were able to get the answer you needed elsewhere. How is the car coming along? All of the Mustang II's that I have heard of converted to EFI have used a factory EFI system.

    Post Your Other Projects!!

Lack of money is hampering my projects as well. Great job on the Fox repair! When done it didn't even look like it had been repaired. I'm 2 hours to your west in Birmingham, but don't have a running II at the moment.

About To Get Started On The 76 Cobra...

Looks like a great start! Was the car originally white? Anything interesting about the car (options, etc.)?

I would be a lot farther along if I would be less about the perfection and more about the driving! :nice:

Progress Thread '78 Ii Rising From The Grave

Yeah the "home" website listed in my profile is for the two MII's that I own. Unfortunately the CBII project has been stalled for many years (but at least it's been inside) while the Ghia resto has been stalled for about a year. I was hoping to take the Ghia to the 50th anniversary show in...

How can it be 22 years???

The last time I had a car that pulled to one side, it was a brake caliper not releasing. I bled the brake lines and in the process pumped through a bunch of new fluid and that fixed it. Could be alignment too though...

Interior looks great! I can't wait to see the rest of the car.

Project77, What did the thickness of the fiberglass look like?

    Coolant Inlet? Please help.

I don't have much experience with the 2.8, but from what I see in your pics, I would drill out the failed bolt and get replacement bolts (probably metric). The important part is where the bolt goes into the block...what condition are the threads there? This water-neck should not have threads...

headers for a mustang ll with a 351w

I think that the Hedman headers you are referring to are actually the Pinto/351 swap headers that require big cuts in the inner fenders and two pipes per side to route through the fenderwells and back under the car. There was also an older header which is no longer in production that routed...

    V6 Transmission Swap

I think that your V6 4-speed driveshaft has a good chance of being 1 inch too long, but its not too big of a deal to get it shortened. The 302 AT driveshaft is probably the correct length. Personnly I'd be tempted to use an overdrive trans out of a later Ranger or Explorer with a V6. They...

    Electric fuel pump mounting location

Some of the guys running 5.0L engines with EFI are mounting the pump on the framerail or have modified the tank to accept the Fox in-tank setup.

    2.3 Turbo Carbed

Too much plumbing on a draw through design...take a look at the Ford Factory effort for 1979. Another possibility on a blow through system is to place the carb in an enclosure like Paxton. You need a boost-referenced fuel pump to keep up with demand, but I don't think that the carb has to be...

    Checking in

Mattie, glad to see you back again! I love the idea of the TC engine in a coupe. Loving the Tangerine II also. Cobraman, was that one a homebrew vert?

    It's been a while

Find the vacuum line to the vacuum canister and plug it. Its probably very holey by now. The brake booster can leak vacuum badly too. Since you swapped the intake, I'd spray some carb cleaner around the gaskets and look for vacuum leaks there.

Need a new rack with 3 hole spacing

The '74 Mustang II used the 3-hole rack. It was superceded by the 2-hole rack in 1975 (not sure of the production date). In any case, the outer holes on the 3-hole should match the spacing on the 2-hole rack. The aftermarket racks by Flaming River etc. have a non-factory shaft end, so you...

    78 Cobra II Help

Amaterasu, glad to have you back and sorry nobody answered you earlier. As I recall, the long water pulley bolts aren't particualrly unusual, they should have a standard (SAE) thread on them, and for a 302 powered MII they should be the same as any other 302 of that period. I seem to...

    Top redo

Jansen, great work on the new fiberglass deck. Looks like factory!
