    I thought the Crown Vic's upper intake was reverse, IE the throttle body points to the driver's side.

    This was a MECHANICAL gauge, so there isn't an actual sending unit, really. The gauge/tube/sending unit are all one piece and cannot be disconnected. The real reason I changed it was because for a long time I had the temp sender for the gauge screwed into the back of the intake. I had read...

    Yeah I should have been more clear. I originally had an Autometer unit that failed so I replaced it temporarily with a Sunpro unit. This problem has been occurring before and after the t-stat swap.

    The plastic box is better than nothing. I'm using one in my car, but then again I have a separate trunk, not a hatch. The techs at Qualcomm have always accepted it, but now they're enforcing the cut-off switch rule :(

    Keep in mind that entrance for participants in the show closes at 10am. C'bad to Knotts in 1 hour is definitely do-able with no traffic, but cutting it close. Of course entry for spectators is all day.
