    Pinion Yoke Swap Question

A longer yoke should have no effect on the bearing preload. If it's longer, the only thing that will change is the depth the trans yoke goes into the tranny. All the shims for preload are between the bearings and the yoke length has nothing to do with that. Guess I should change my log in...

Which nuts and washers with lift plate?

That's what we use to pull a big block chevy in our race car. I also used it when I put the cleveland in my 67. Just make sure the threads are good in the manifold and use as much of them as possible. You can always use a bigger washer to cover more of the slot if you want.

    aftermarket seats, harnesses

The 5 point harness can be used without the crotch strap, at least for the street. One thing to remember, if you put the 5 point harness in and you decide to go to the dragstrip, make sure they aren't expired. ALL harness's are required to be updated every 2 years. You either buy a new set or...

    67 power steering question

I dropped a 351C in my 67 and my wife thinks we should put the p/s back in it.:( I've been trying to find a pressure hose that will work, but so far no luck. The hose that was on the 302 won't clear the oil filter, motor mount etc. I've had some tell me they run up by the shock tower, but i...

    Power steering hose routing

Thanks for the info. I did try routing the old hose up along the shock tower, but the headers were in the way. Everytime i see 2 pressure hoses required, they usually mention a cooler, which i don't have and haven't been able to find one. Guess i'll go back out and talk to it somemore.

    Power steering hose routing

I dropped a 351C in my 67 and was going to leave out the p/s, but my wife thinks we should reinstall it. Now the fun part. The hoses that were on the 302 didn't fit real well, besides i need new ones. Anyone got any pictures of the routing and what pressure hose would i need...

Need some info on power steering hoses

I have a 67 with a 351C. I was going to leave the p/s and a/c out, but my wife decided she'd rather have'em now. So, i got the pump and all the p/s brackets but need to know which hoses to use, what year, etc. I've seen some sites where it says 2 pressure hoses required. Is that for...

    HEI DISTRIBUTOR???

As i said before, you need 12v constantly (start and run) so the original coil wire won't work because its resistive. I had to remove the ignition switch and connect where the original resistor coil wire comes out of the ignition switch. If you have a tach now, just connect your tach lead to...

HEI question from the new guy

Vacuum advance on the distributor should have nothing to do with the vacuum secondaries on your carb, not that i'm aware of anyway. Its been a long time since i messed with the autolite but i think the secondaries should be a function of the carb itself. The HEI vacuum advance uses ported...

    HEI DISTRIBUTOR???

No special terminals needed for the HEI. Just purchase 2 female spade connectors and crimp them on your wires. Just about any parts store should have them. If not sure what you need take the cap in with you to show them. No external coil is required for the HEI unless you remove the coil and...

    Mustang had to hauled away

I know this is too late to say, but if the engine is making too much noise initially, shut it down right then. That will not hurt the cam. Just some info for future reference: Be sure to coat the cam with the moly lube provided. Let the lifters soak in oil for awhile, then use a oil squirt...

Heidts Mustang II front end for a 67?

Just wondering if anyone has tried the Heidts Mustang II front suspension. It looks like a pretty nice setup. It would definitely give me some additional room for headers, etc. Thanks

    351C in a 68, help

Being a GM guy, i opted for a 351c 4v in my 67. About the only problem i had was the headers. Had to have a few tweaks on the tubes in a couple places. I also went to the mini hi-torque starter and have plenty of clearance now. The plugs are a little harder to get to, but not all that bad...

Wiring Help Needed... 240volt 15amp Compressor??

I bought a 60 gal at Costco and used a 3 prong dryer cord and plugged it in to my outlet for the welder. White, Black for power and green for ground. I looked at the compressor and from the way it's worded, it's 240v only. Most will say 120/240v if it will handle both.

    Rear End Dilemma

Ratio411 quote: "so I will weld a back brace on mine when done" I wouldn't weld the the back brace on when done. The back brace should be welded on, then the housing ends should be welded on, but only when using a bar through the housing to maintain straightness of the housing. A back brace...

    Paint - Tucson Body Shop

I wouldn't recommend going to Smith-Martin.:notnice: Several years ago, i would've, but no more. I just had my 02 Olds Bravada repaired there a few months back. Its a tri-coat red. When i picked it up, it didn't look quite right. After a few days i took it back and said it didn't look...
