    Throwout bearing was replaced when all the work was getting done. I'm stumped. Could something have gone wrong with the clutch/pressure plate installation that could have caused this?. Thanks.

    You think?. Cause I have a guy that tells me the tranny is on its way out if it sounds like its coming from the tranny and not the clutch pedal. I just wanna get rid of it (the chatter). Car shifts good as ever and there are no problems besides that "chatter".

    looking at a 98 cobra

    I paid $8200 for my '99 Cobra (triple black) convertible. Car had 72k when I got it but also had an '04 Mach 1 motor w/9k miles, 4.10 gears, 18" wheels, etc.... . Anyway, $12k seems high. I found an '04 Mach 1 for that price.

    Would a Mark VIII block work in a 4.6 DOHC Cobra or Mach 1?

    I can only relate this to my buddies '04 Mach 1 before he had a supercharger on it. With 4.10's he ran faster times in the 1/8th and 1/4mile with higher trap speeds than he did with the stock 3.55 gears. He complained (as do I) that the gears were a PITA for everyday driving.     From what I understand the Mach 1 has small but effective changes within the motor including different heads,etc. On paper the 99 Cobra looks pretty well matched for a Mach motor but the Mach motor with its different heads/cams makes more hp in lower rpms and dynos more to the wheels.

    Car is at stock height but it does have some suspension mods. I noticed camber plates and aftermarket shocks but I'll have to check and see what kind.

    I'm not all that crazy about the 4.10's in my '99 Cobra. Rowing through the gears way too much. I dont even bother with first gear, I take off in second. The acceleration is impressive though. I would give up a little of that acceleration for some longer gears. 3.73's might be good.

    Car is fixed and is running great. Had the computer reflashed at the dealer (towed car there). Car has a speedcal already on the pcm so no problem there with the gears. Gonna do a dyno tune in the near future and thats about it. Thanks for all the help!.

    I'll check that website. Would be great if it worked. No confusion on the motor cause I know the shop that obtained/installed it. He said, she said isn't from the owners its from the shop that did all the work to it. I bought the car from the previous owners widow, he passed.

    Know of any company I can send the PCM to that will reflash it and program all the mods done?. I'm being told now that I need to buy a scanner or something for $400 and then get a $300 dyno tune plus of course the money for a tow truck.

    Long story short. Owner of the shop that installed the Mach 1 motor said that the car came into the shop with a knock. Guy wanted another Cobra motor installed. Shop owner located a 9k mile '04 Mach motor. The cars owner said no to the Mach motor inisisting it absolutely HAD to be a Cobra motor...
