    Next mod for 96gt

    If you shop carefully, you can pull off a set of PI Cams and a PI intake for $200-225. I was lucky and got both for $115. Sick 35-40hp gains for $115, that just isn't right. Please don't hate me. hahahah :nice:

    squeaking belt

    New belt fixed this exact problem on my car. I think the spring tensioner was at its limits trying to compensate for belt stretching. Mine never does it now.

    Problems with P.I. Intake on NP.I. cars

    The hp gains are awesome. On my car I dyno'ed 211rwhp before and 226rwhp after. That 229 number came from putting my timing adjuster at 14 degrees. The real gains were above 4500 rpm. Up at 5500 rpm, I gained 25hp/25tq. It was awesome.

    Rear Control arms

    Those are the ones I put on my car, and it made a noticeable difference with the typical rear end "slop" in the fox chassis cars. It feels nice and solid now.

    Basically, there are 2 "arms" that control front to back and side to side movement of the rear end. Your springs sit on these lower control arms, thats one way to quickly point them out. You would have to support the rear end and take them loose to get at the bushings. Getting the bushings...

    PI intake on NPI heads

    Not true at all. I installed a PI intake on non-PI heads and gained 15rwhp peak, 1-3 tq, and at 5500 rpm I gained 24hp and 24tq. Very worthwhile mod. Make sure to put some RTV down when doing the install to help insure against leaks. Do a search on this site, and on ModularDepot.com for more info.

    I had the same exact problem. Turned out to be a lower control arm bushing. I replaced them with new solids, and the sound is gone.

    Thinking about switching to a 94/95 GT ...

    Just throw the PI intake and cams on there for a solid 25-35rwhp gain. I got 25rwhp at 5500rpm with just the PI intake. The car isn't a dog when you let it breath, and match the mod's well.

    New best with PI intake mod!

    The intake is doin great. No leaks, nothing wrong at all. I love the power gains on the top end. With drag radials I think 13.8's are possible. We'll see what happens. :nice:

    Nice numbers man! I bet that sucker is strong on the top end. You gotta get some track times to go with those dyno numbers!
