Need Help, Lost 1/4" Bit Extension in Dist Hole...

   I definitely blamed her, but in the end, there is NO WAY that I could possibly make her any more miserable!:nice: ( I hope she never stumbles on this. Ha, haa. ) Anyway - in the end, I dropped the pan after not having any success with the magnet technique. I would have...

Never mind - I forgot that I wired the disrtibutor all pretty & the location of my #1 wire on the cap WAS not lined up with the rotor. Duh...:D

Popping through Carb, WILL NOT start?

Going on day three of removing & re-installing my intake and now the car won't start. I installed the carb with a new gasket, installed the distributor, what seems like 20 different times & it just refuses to start. ( this car HATES me, LOL! ) The only thing I'm getting is a nice...

Need Help, Lost 1/4" Bit Extension in Dist Hole...

I tried the magnetic-wand down through the hole but didn't have much luck. I'll try sweeping it in the drain hole tomorow to see if that does anything... I'm sure I'll end up dropping the pan in the end. I'm so pissed,LOL!:bs:

Need Help, Lost 1/4" Bit Extension in Dist Hole...

WTF - As if my day couldn't get any worse, with my wife bitching at me in the back-ground because she's hungry - I dropped my 1/4" bit extension down the hole while rotating the pump shaft...:bang: :bang: :bang: Am I correct in guessing that I now have to remove the oil-pan to retrieve this...

    Coolant Leaking frorm Exhaust?

If exhaust is present in the radiator, does that AUTOMATICALLY say head gasket problem or could it still be intake-gasket related? The difference in the quantity of fluid coming out of the exhaust was HUGE. The drivers side had the usual amount of splattering BUT the passenger side was...

    Coolant Leaking frorm Exhaust?

Just out of curiosity - Why would the "bad" cylinder-plug look brand-new with a faulty head gasket situation? Also - any ideas on why the #1 cylinder plug looks the way it does compared to the others? Thanks...

    Coolant Leaking frorm Exhaust?

The oil actually looks great! ( nice & gold ) I will say though, that as SOON as I noticed the problem, I took the intake apart - so I don't know how fast the oil would turn milky, if in fact this actually ends up being a head gasket problem... Intake Gaskets...

    Coolant Leaking frorm Exhaust?

Well - I pulled the four on the passenger side & this is what I have. #4, #3, & #2 all look identical. #1 is significantly darker. Doesn't really smell like antifreeze though. ( I'd have to say it has more of a gassier bouquet to it, LOL! ) Does this indicate anything?

    Coolant Leaking frorm Exhaust?

Not really - everything actually looked ok to me as far as disassembly went. The gasket tore where I sealed it with RTV around the water ports, & came off nice and clean everywhere else. ( the only scraping I had to do was around the water inlets / ports ) There didn't seem to be any OBVIOUS...

    Coolant Leaking frorm Exhaust?

Hello Everyone - This morning after starting the car I noticed a significant amount of fluid leaking from the passenger side exhaust pipe? ( allot more than the normal amount of accumulated condensation - it had a slight hue of green to it as well ) I also notice a lovely fuel-smell...

    Help determining push-rod length?

I don't think I can use my current push-rods as a base measurement because they are for the hydraulic cam that I just replaced with the solid... Do you think that the adjustable summit checker that is displayed in the link will still be suitable for the distance that I need? Thanks.

    Help determining push-rod length?

I'm replacing my push-rods & am in need of some advice as to what length "adjustable" push-rod checker should I use? In the Jeg's catalog there is eight different length-ranges to choose from & I have NO idea what my "starting-point" should be. Any help would be appreciated - Thanks...

    Hole in Valve Cover!

Thanks man - I know... The good news is they are replaceable. The bad news is the cost is around $250 for the pair... I just took everything apart & it looks like I have a slightly bent push rod too. I have to wonder if this would have happened with the Crane rockers? Originally...

    Hole in Valve Cover!

This happened yesterday - when I opened up the hood & saw what happened I pretty much felt instantly sickened... I actually skipped right over anger & went directly into nausea... Not you again, rbohm. LOL! ( Yesterday I may have taken you up on the $50 ) The Jegs rockers came with...

    Hole in Valve Cover!

Yep - Just as it says, I now have a lovely frigin hole in my valve cover. I'm trying to figure out what's going on here so any help and or advice would be GREATLY appreciated... I replaced my 20yr old 1.6 Crane gold rockers with a new set of 1.6 Jegs brand when I recently had my...

    Got my Tri-y's

Every thing looks great! nice job... If you are un-sure at this time of which mini starter to use let me recommend the Powermaster XS. I have had two of the "supposed" Ford Racing mini's & had problems with both. The first wouldn't even turn over & the second one grenaded itself after...

    Most likely a dumb question?

LOL!  I would maybe consider letting you work on it, only IF you brought the beer. ( it would have to be good beer too ) Laury is only 100m from BV, so I'm guessing you could be here in about an hour & a half - Guinness is probably my favorite at this time. Seriously though...

    Most likely a dumb question?

I pretty much figured that - I just wanted to check for sure to see if it was even an option. ( wishful thinking I guess ) I'll forget about being lazy & bolt it up properly before starting. Thanks.
