    I have a mild 1975 306 with stock heads. It has flat top pistons, roller rockers, Edelbrock Performer Intake, Cam and Carb. In a light weight II it is an "E" ticket ride!! I have an Edelbrock Nitrous kit also (for added tire smoke). Naturally asperated it is O.K, but I am saving for Edelbrock...

    Great to here you got the old girl going! -Cast Iron gearswork with cast cams -Steel gears work with billiet steel cams -Bronze / Brass can be used on either but wear at a faster rate. :D

    What the heck are you guy's doing???? I put brand new V8 Air Conditioning springs in the front of my Mach, there was a little bit of violance required, but not that much :shrug: :D

    Never used a spring compressor on a II. I chain the springs when I take them out. Putting them in. Jack the car 2 1/2' off the ground. I start with the shock off (it gets in the way). with the lower ball joint seperated rotate the control arm as far as it will go, use a pry bar to get it to go...

    If the flat top pistons are level with the top of the bore, use a 85-93 302 H.O as a refferance. happy head hunting :D Remember not to give up too many CC's to raise the compression ratio, you may be better off with less compression and larger ports. 302's do not breath much. I picked 58cc...

    Everytime I drive the II, some Mustang club dude tries to recruit me. I have not joined any of them so far. Some sound interesting: track day's and drag racing, others don't: car shows, matching lawn chairs and stuffed toddlers. Do you guys have any thoughts or experiances on joining a Mustang club?

    my project...

    My car just has an inexpensive keyless entry system with 13lbs power door lock solinoids attached to the door latchs. Then just remove and un-hook the door handels, weld in a patch. I have it wired in such a way that it does not operate when the engine is on. (so no one falls out) :D

    I have been looking into it and I think a 302 stroker (347) is the way to go! It used to be that the 347 was a race only piece, but one company (forget the name) is offering a 347 where the ring does not go thought the wrist pin area. The 302 based engine came factory and it could be installed...
