    Torque box repair

FOllowup ps - The torque boxes for non convertible are the same up to and including 70. You could put a 68-70 PS Torque box in a 65-67 to stiffen the chassis, just as I put a 67-70 DS Torque box in my 65.

Why would anyone need hardened pushrods?

My brother (dodgestang) and I built a 408 stroker cleveland. Langhorne speed shop gave us non hardened pushrods by accident. It was carnage. Metal everywhere. Don't mess around here. Its not worth it. jer

Why would anyone need hardened pushrods?

A couple of good reasons. If you run guide plates you will need hardened pushrods. Otherwise when the guide plates come into contact with the pushrod they will begin to wear and as the pushrod is 'eroded' by the guide plate contact, the ejected metal from the pushrod will flow into your oil and...

    429 Help to 1967 mustang!!!!!!!!!

PS - I have not been able to find the post, but someone on one of the other forums ran a 69 429 on a chassis dyno in a 67 mustang and it had 237 rear wheel hp. (FWIW)

    429 Help to 1967 mustang!!!!!!!!!

THe 429 will drop right in . I did the same thing in the 80's to a 67 coupe. 429 out of a 69 tbird. Had to use the stock exhaust manifolds and a c6. The car ran like a raped ape. the hood closed and NOOOBODY had any idea what was sitting next to them at the lights. Ford Power Parts in...

    429 fast back

I am not trying to rain on your parade here.... If you are just throwing in a tired old nag out of a t-bird the car is gonna be pretty quick but you are in no danger of twisting a solid stock car. I did just that with a '69 t-bird 429 in a 67 coupe w/ a C6. I ran just an export brace...

Help me narrowdown the non working front brake problem. please :)

a good starting point. I would start by 'bench bleeding' the master cylinder: disconnect brake lines from Master Cylinder. (attach plastic screwins with little clear hoses back into the resevoir) pump the pedal until all bubble cease to appear in the clear tubes. reconnect brake lines...

    Strut Rod reinforcement

Ditch the bushings and go kevlar injected heim joints From what I read into your post, the bushings are not staying tight. This is DEFINITELY having a negative impact on your handling. The job of the strut rod is to stop any forward and back deflection of the lower control arm. The quick...

    TCP Coilover Failures

Tension Mount I know folks who have popped out the coil spring seat on the inside of the shock tower and mounted the top of the coil over inside the tower. The TCP upper mount is in tension (not good) I believe soley so that the conversion is a complete bolt in (no mods).

    using a car dolley

Adding the Tech There is a lot of information and some mis-information in this thread. Let me see if I can help. AUTOMATIC. With an automatic transmission, when the engine is running the torque converter spins and causes the transmission fluid (read OIL) to circulate to all the moving parts...

2000 4.6l cobra crate engine swap into 65/66 mustangs?

I agree with the post above - the power of the mod motor is hardly worth the effort to modify the car. Get a stroker small block and run circles around the mod-motor configuration for considerably less $

Strut Rods: Global West vs. Street or Track?

I have the street or track Strut Rods I have the street or track (S/T) strut rods, TCP Uppers, TCP Gen1 Manual Rack, and opentracker roller perches on my 65 coupe. Short of making the strut-rod yourself, the S/T ones are excellent and priced very attractively. I also don't mind parting w/...

    Suspension Update

Curious Hi, I notice that you have chosen a 0 degree incline on the upper ball joint relative to the arm. Stock is around 22 degrees and TCP run about 8 degrees. Are there other geometry changes that you have made to the system or mounting points that dictated 0? jer

Cabin gettin warm, Tranny tunnel hot. FMX slippage?

Exhaust pipes are the likely culprit for warming up the floor pans. Make sure that the exhaust is not obstructed and the pipes have not been run unusually close to the tranny. Heat is the enemy of the transmission. :)

    Picking up a 67 Coupe w/351W

The windsor is not going to overpower the 8" rear. I would caution you to inspect the cowling and the floors carefully. It sounds from the description that he was starting to dump money into the car and then something changed his mind. Make sure it wasn't something he has not disclosed about...

    TCP lives!!

Business Hi, I think that the reason there is a rather high markup on the TCP stuff, as well as many of the items we buy for our classic ponies, is the size of the market. If the market could support Alston's selling 100K units in 3 years, then the price would/could be notably lower...
