Take me to intake school...JLT vs. KN

I had the FIPK in for 3 months and soon the heat shield rubbed a hole in the metal coolant hose for the A/C. I was NOT happy. My fault I guess for not checking for proper clearance, but I saw a lot of satisfied people on here who used it and just expected it to install perfectly. Good...

    Hard launch with Shelby?

Automobile magazine dumped the clutch at 3200 rpm with the traction control on and got the best number possible, something like 4.6 sec to 60mph. I assume they did this a ton and even with the electronics off. If the GT500 given out to the journalists did it over and over, it's a safe bet...

    K&N FIPK Problem

Just ordered the C&L 85mm MAF w/Inlet Pipe! I love excuses to spend $350 on myself :SNSign:

Any advantages to having larger rear tires?

I wasn't able to get a quarter mile time when I had the stock tires, but the added unsprung weight has definitly made a SOTP difference for the worse. Still, the launch is perfect with the added traction. The G's I can pull in a corner is just scary, too. :D

    K&N FIPK Problem

K&N FIPK owners: check the hoses inboard from the metal heat shield. Mine came in contact with the silver-metal air conditioning hose and rubbed a hole in it. Bye-bye refrigerent. I took the car in for warrenty service and they found the hole and dried refrigerent all over the heat shield...

Do we have good power steering pumps???

Slightly off-topic: Has anyone gotten a bad steering creak? Mine happens when turning the wheel left. Sounds like wires tensing up. Dunno. :( Happened after I put the bigger tires on.

Ask and you shall recieve.. ***VIDEOS***

They hook TOO good. I think my rear axle might be getting bent slightly from taking a hairpin turn at 60mph every day on the way to work. Turning the wheel and punching the gas only makes the rim scrape the pavement: the tire sticks and wraps UNDER the rim! If you have a spare 2 g's for the...

Recommend the BFG KD's. The Nittos (sticky things) will wear quicker. I went to both companies' websites to research and looked at their tread ratings before shelling out the thousand clams. It's worth it :nice:

    Best Tire for 17 X 10.5 Rims?

BFG KD' treadwear is 200 AA A. Go here to find out what that means: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/general/utqg.jsp

    Best Tire for 17 X 10.5 Rims?

Definitly the BFG KD's at 315. They're awesome dry traction tires and I haven't slid on them in the rain yet here in Hawaii (most rainfall per year in the US.) The treadwear's better than the Nitto's too.

    Bullit rims on '05

Will my 10.5's from wheelreplicas.com fit the new '05? I'm thinking of keeping them and trading the GT with the old rims on.

WED.'s the day, 350z vs. 03 gt vert at track, who wins?

sorry, man, but from one '03 auto vert owner to the next, you're probably goin :notnice:. The auto is just too much of a pig, not to mention the weight you (and I) added with the 315's. Cut a good light and hope for the best, bud.

    Question for FIPK Owners

Leave it off, there's no problem. The BBK CAI had a hissing noise after I took it off, but the FIPK is a better flowing one and is good.

    New BFG's: worth it.

Ready? $1400 on Tirerack.com. This did include shipping to Hawaii and 15 bucks installation per tire, so it'll be better for domestic shipping. Fun factor=worth every penny.

    New BFG's: worth it.

Just thought I'd report in on the new tires: These BFG KD's (see sig) are un-f'n-believable. No matter how hard I try to break these things free, I just can't. I'd have to do something REALLY scary/stupid to lose traction in a corner. This doesn't include wet traction, but you'd have to be...
