i had the same issue,tore the motor down.One ring was stuck in the piston i wanted a reason to tear the motor down anyway,wasnt happy with the moly rings i found out were junk

i believe they are cheap rings,i didnt do anything different than the last few times i installed rings,i guess ill see if the leakdown test fails.i have a funny feeling it will end up in a tear down another test i ran is i took the rocker arms off on that low cyl and put about 100lb of air in...

just did a test by dropping some oil in the cyl that was low,well it went from 80 to 125lb just like that,im told that is a cracked ring

as said below the normal stuff ,nothing different,kit went right in

400 miles on the build ,i have 120lb cyl pressure on all but one cyl,it has 80.Im assuming i have a ring seating issue.Also have a fuel smell with a little smoke coming out of vc vents at idle but when i get in on it, it smokes a good bit.Is it time to pull the motor down and put a better ring...

does anybody know which speed pro ring comes with a dss rotating assembly? i know there moly but is it the cheap or expensive ones? thanks

the funny thing is it happened in all 4 corners,all the same looking. only trqd to like 20 lb,it does look like it was smashed. i use permatex in the center im wondering if it was a cause for my blowby on a fresh motor

does a chromeoly set of rings take a while to seat? this my 3rd motor ive built,1st 2 motors no problems ,this is 1st time using moly rings,seems like i still have a good bit of blowby,how many miles should it take to break in? i was told it takes a bit longer this is a carbed motor thanks

ive done everything bg has told me to do,timing ,floats,butterflies and fuel pressure,still running rich at idle.Turns the plugs black, if i can get the idle leaned out id be pleased,everything else is fine.I know the mighty demons come with idle restrictors in brass but a speed demon just comes...

i use the cork style,i put a light coat of permatex on the valve cover that way when i pull the vc off it stays,ive pulled mine off atleast 7 or 8 times no leaks yet

i just pull the cover,spray the inside with break cleaner,put the cover back on then fill until it comes out of hole

thats a small tire for a 331,i couldnt hook well with those with a mild 306 so i got the 275/50s and snapped an axle twice

i had them on the car before ,i borrowed them from a friend i need the tall tire for the c4 and 3.73s thanks

thanks,i thought they were wider than that,i had the 275/50 and the 60 series.i was hoping they made a 10'' wide in a 28'' tire
