    IRS to Solid Axle swap

Jose, Are you mechanically inclined? Do you have tools and a place to work? If so the swap if a fairly simple one. I am half way through mine right now, just waiting for my garage to warm up so I can finish. You don't have that problem do you? :hail2: As far as cost goes it can be as...

    04 Cobra

Order it! I traded in my 03 DSG wingless gt for my 03 cobra. After all of the paint work and everything the paint looked like poop! DSG is a very hard color to work with and it isn't worth messing with just for a wing. If your die hard wingless like me you should definitely order it and you...

    Need help with lowering

I had sportlines (2") on my 98. Simple install and looked great! As far as the c/c plates, throw on the springs, get it aligned and go from there. I put c/c plates on every stang I lowered, every time I went for alignment the tech told me he got it as close to spec as possible. Im not saying...

    Upgraded IRS half shafts???

Im not sure thats exactly the case. My friend made over 50 passes on his 03 this year with et streets and dumping the clutch from 6k. Nothing broke! My best times were with his wheel and tire set up launching the same way and I never broke anything even after some wheel hoping f1 runs. I...

    Upgraded IRS half shafts???

All I know is I just picked up a brand new spare hs for next season in case I don't get my solid installed in time. The 03 hs is heavy and solid as hell! I haven't broke a hs yet but my guess is the guys that are breaking them got to be wheel hopping the **** out of there cars.

    Upgraded IRS half shafts???

If your drag racing the solid axle is the only way to go. Thats what I do with mine but I might not have enough money to swap out the irs this winter, so I started checking into better halfshafts to get me through a season! Good Luck!

    live axle.. IRS???

Im not, how do you figure that? Im also not saying you cant make a great handling irs either. To say that....."Mod for mod, the IRS will easily outhandle the solid axle" is a retarded.

Does this piss you off too?????

You said in a previous post that "honestly the live axle does suck for drag racing". So why you swapping to a solid if they suck for drag racing.

    live axle.. IRS???

Formula 1???? The irs in a vette is much nicer than our irs. Gm built that car for that particular irs, ford just took an irs and bolted into ours. You think truck when you think of solid because you don't know any better. Do some research about solid axle stangs, you will find...

Does this piss you off too?????

Are you drunk? I don't want to here about amazon, nothing against them but your crazy. How many drag racers run an irs????????? There are guys who have popped half shafts on pot holes. Wheel hop or not the irs is not tough enough to handle the rigors of drag racing period......

    live axle.. IRS???

Oh one more thing. The irs definitely takes the cake for daily driving. Much nicer ride and very smooth. Especially on off ramps were there are expansion joints etc....The ass end wont kick out and takes everything within stride.

    live axle.. IRS???

I agree, the solid axle is the way to go for straightline acceleration, ie drag racing, far more durable too. However too many people are under the assumption an irs is a far better handling than the solid. IMO you can make a better handling car with a solid rather than an irs. Not saying the...

    Bassani on a 98 Cobra...Good Idea?

IMO bassani is a good choice on any mustang! Go for it, sound is awesome and different from the flows. Nothing against flows, I have had them on 2 out of 3 mustangs but it's nice to sound great and not have flowmasters like everyone else. :D
