installed my taurus fan and DC Controller. Pics

The low speed circuit is there so that the fan starts at low speed, avoiding the locked rotor current spike. This controller isn't variable speed, so if it's starting up slowly, either the fuse holder or motor is failing. I assume the two wires coming out of the high speed side of the controller...

A quick word about Brian Baskin at DCC.

Don't take it personally, I'm just not a multitasker, once I start getting behind, I just build controllers and answer tech questions, that's about it. To answer your question, if you're from here and have been here a while, which I know you have, there's no question that I'll sell to you, the...

$1.3 million Mustang? I want what they are Smoking

Their excuse for the price seems to be that they spent 15,000 hours butchering the car. If anyone is interested, I'd be willing to have you send me your pristine 1967 fastback and agree to spend 15,000 hours hitting it with a sledgehammer. I can't promise it will be anywhere near as ugly as the...

What is this tool used for? its old

I would say it's a carbon block. You disconnect one battery cable, connect one end of the sensor to the battery, the other end to the cable, and then crank the starter. The voltage across the block is proportional to the current through it.

TO DO OR NOT TO DO ELECTRIC WATER PUMP

Wallzy is entirely correct, “the water going through the radiator too fast” theory has been proven multiple times to be incorrect, in fact Stant has even published an article regarding the origins of this. The reality is that the more efficiently the heat is transferred to the radiator, the...

    Bad Luck

No idea how they blew the pins off, I think you’d have to go nation wide though to resolve the problem. I’m pretty sure I told you about the one mechanic that used the bench grinder in order to get a better ground. Actually, other than the pins, this wasn’t really their fault. The...

    Bad Luck

I just got the controllers and tested them. All three of them, including the one with the 16 pin connector blown off of it :) fired right up. I ran them all from -40F to 250F, all good.

DCC Fan Controller and Mark VIII fan, overheating...

The fan isn't suppose to cool the car on the freeway, that cooling is provided by the low pressure behind the radiator and high pressure in front of the radiator from the lower air dam. If the air dam is missing, it needs to be replaced. The mechanical fan moves more air through the radiator at...

help with contacting DCC control owner

It's in the lot I'm building now. A wierd deal, I didn't get any email notification for your pms, although there's two there, but they're both marked as read. On the site, you should have gotten a front page, but I'm limiting sales to this and a couple of other sites until I catch up. send...

    Mark VIII fan wiring

If it settles to 185 and it’s consistent, then the install is correct, the thermostat is probably also fine. I haven’t been able to correlate why a few cars do this and what’s different on them while the rest don’t, they usually do it right after driving at speed under a light load. The lower...

    Mark VIII fan wiring

The sensor placement should be fine. How fast is the fan running when the car is at 200? If it's not running full speed, there can be a couple of reasons for the high temperature. One possibility is that the radiator sensor doesn’t have a good thermal contact with the radiator or that that part...

    Mark VIII fan wiring

You can connect it to any 12V source, the high power input to the controller will work as well as the battery +

    Mark VIII fan wiring

The AC input can be energized pretty easily, you can just use a small wire and connect it to the input of the controller. Also, are the inputs connected directly to the battery and how far is the controller from the battery? The fan is probably good, in the last five years, I've only seen two...

    Mark VIII fan wiring

If the light is green, it’s indicating that the controller is off. The most likely problem is that the yellow ignition input isn’t getting 12V. It’s not critical without the U/D jumper, since the controller will over ride to on if it gets disconnected, but with the U/D, it will over ride to off...

    E Fan Controllers

OK; you're correct, you posted in AM, not PM, my mistake, I apologize for that, but still, you’re portraying this as if you had emailed me numerous times with no response, when in fact you had emailed me once two business days ago, not exactly a stellar response, but not even remotely close to...

The fact of the matter is that he's simply lying to you and that's no surprise to me. He sent the first email Thursday, I didn't email him back Friday so earlier today he emails me, implying that I'm a thief. I informed him that I was insulted and that I wasn't going to do business with him and...

    Which Taurus Fan?

I temember, that's why I responded to the thread. It is the contour fan and the factory ones that I use are pretty expensive, but they also sell replacements that are quite a bit cheaper. The quality of the replacement fans isn''t as high as the factory ones, but they're typically better than...
