    Official Tremec 3650 Issues Thread

I had my transmission repaired as soon as they come out with the fix for it, and never had a grinding issue since. I have an MGW short throw shifter on it too. I love it. It's much better than the stock shifter.

    Engine overheating

I bought one today at O'Reilly Auto Parts and it cost about $10 with the seal. The brand is Murray Plus, and is all O'Reilly had, which is OEM at 195 degrees. I've changed thermostats before on older cars and they had a seal that you place between the housing and the engine block, and the bolts...

    Engine overheating

I have about 86,000 miles on the car and never changed it yet. Would you say that it's time to change it? :)

    Engine overheating

Hi everyone, I have a question that I might know the answer to already, but just want to confirm it with your thoughts and answers... I have a 2002 Mustang GT that I bought brand new, and this summer when it was hot out, driving with my A/C on and in stop and go city traffic, the thermostat goes...

Rough idling - 2002 Mustang GT

Even I failed to realize that it was the fan. I thought it was either a valve (IAC, PCV, etc) or something electrical. The vibration shook the whole car and I never thought a fan could do that. I thought it was the engine itself running badly. $635.96 was how much it cost to be exact. Fan...

Rough idling - 2002 Mustang GT

I just got the car back and it runs like new. So if any of you ever have this same exact problem, look at the fan.

Rough idling - 2002 Mustang GT

Well, I have my car in today and I just got a call from Ford and guess what they said the problem was? I have a cracked fan blade (how the heck that happened I'll never know) and it will cost me around $600 parts and labor.   That is crazy just to replace a fan. crapola According...

Rough idling - 2002 Mustang GT

Just to see what would happen, I unhooked the plug on the IAC and the car wouldn't run, which I figured would happen. If the IAC is bad, can it still be good enough to run the car but malfunction when the A/C is on?

I have a feeling you are right. I will mention that tomorrow when I take it in. Thanks.

Rough idling - 2002 Mustang GT

When I was in High School (a long time ago) I drove a '77 Ford Maverick (haha) and it had an alternator. Tomorrow I'm going to try that out and see what happens. I am also going to try the other posters suggestion to leave the cable unplugged for awhile to reset the computer. I would think the...

Rough idling - 2002 Mustang GT

The check engine light isn't coming on. During the coldest days this winter, the guages were sweeping. Probably due for a battery... :) I always thought that once the car is running, everything uses the current off of the alternator, because you can disconnect the battery cables and the car will...

Rough idling - 2002 Mustang GT

When the cooling fan turns on like at a stop light, the same thing happens so I don't think it's the A/C itself causing it.

    Thanks. I'll try that.

Rough idling - 2002 Mustang GT

It's the original. LOL. Could it be that? The battery seems to keep it's charge and starts the car ok. I'm not sure what you mean by CEL's though. :)

Rough idling - 2002 Mustang GT

I checked and no, the volt meter doesn't dip or anything when this happens. I can turn on the heater or anything else and it's ok. It's just when the AC or defroster runs, (both of which uses the AC compressor) or if the cooling fan comes on. After you turn off the AC or defroster, it takes...
