Installed MGW's New Short-Throw Shifter and Cobra Steering Wheel Today!

Excellent! I saw the MGW shifter last week, and I was hoping someone would give a review. Let us know next week what you think of it once it settles in. Did you use any kind of sealant? Or did you drop the unit right in?

    Mach 1 Grille Delete Install

I used a box end wrench instead of a socket. It took some time and was a definite pain, but the wrench slips under the bumper cover easily.

    Fox V8 Springs

Probably a valid point. I suppose I can wait unitl I find some 4 cyls in good condition. Thanks all for the info and advice.

    Fox V8 Springs

That's what I was wondering orginally, considering that it would be supporting a smaller engine (don't know the weight diff). I'm sure that would contribute to the weight transfer advantage. But it does seem from everyone else who has them that Fox springs are generally softer than the 94+...

    Fox V8 Springs

Ahhh. So theoretically, you could cut both the front and the rear and get the lowered stance and the weight transfer. If that's the case, then I wouldn't need 4 cyl springs at all.

    Fox V8 Springs

This is related to a common topic. I just got a set of Fox-body V8 springs, and common wisdom is that you should use cut V8s for the rear and 4 cyls for the front. What is the advantage of 4 cyls on the front? Why not use the V8 springs on the front? Is it related to the spring rate of the...

Cleaning The Engine / Engine Compartment... How Do You Guys Do It?

I'm not sure if anybody else mentioned this, but most instructions for degreasers will tell you to run the engine for 15 minutes or so AFTER you rinse the degreaser off. Definitely NOT BEFORE. Don't put anything, epecially cold water, on a hot engine. You risk cracking something -- like the...

Cleaning The Engine / Engine Compartment... How Do You Guys Do It?

Battery, airbox, and fusebox are what the manual says to cover up. I used Gunk Citrus degreaser -- sounds like some sort of dietary fiber supplement -- and it worked very well. Then I used plain ol' Armor All wipes on the hoses/plastic etc. 4 weeks later, still looks sharp.

    Grill Delete Mod

Steeda, MustangTuning, CDC, and others usually sell the OEM Mach 1 delete kit. MustangTuning is pretty cheap and easy to install. All of the kits include the pony.

    Trying to find a part

Are you talking about rear window louvers? I know somebody makes some along with some other custom body stuff. But I couldn't tell you who offhand.

    Redline Quicklift install -- tips?

I didn't realize that was the factory hood. Sounds like you got it fixed up OK, though. I had seen something about a fix from Redline. The instructions say to use an Index #11 bit for the hood, or a 3/16 if you don't have the 11. Sears didn't seem to know wtf the index 11 was, so I guess...

    Redline Quicklift install -- tips?

I guess that plays right into my last post. Sorry to hear that. Thank god my wife can't drive a manual transmission.

    Redline Quicklift install -- tips?

I don't blame you at all for being nervous. If anyone can drill through the hood, it's me. I was just checking to see if anyone at all had run into any fitment problems, but looks like these are well-made parts. I wonder how many people have tried to use these on aftermarket hoods. Mine is...

    Redline Quicklift install -- tips?

I agree, that prop-rod looks pretty cheap and flimsy compared to the lifts. The instructions say about 50 times not to drill through the hood. God forbid I do something that stupid.

    Redline Quicklift install -- tips?

I've got my Redline Quicklift kit coming tomorrow. I know that there was a group purchase on this not too long ago. Anybody with the Redline kit: any problems, tips, cautions? The install looks pretty straightforward, but you never know. If there are any kinks in the kit, I'd rather know...

    Ford Racing Catback?

Those two threads are very helpful. Especially the second one. I had been wondering what the tips were like. Same as stock I guess. I wonder how far they can be extended. One thing I always liked about the 95-98 GTs is that the tips extend a few inches further out the back than the 99+.

    Ford Racing Catback?

Seems that it should be a perfect fit, and everybody appears to like FRPP stuff (makes sense -- fitment, etc. should be perfect). I wonder how the sound compares to Magnaflow (not Magnapack). Mustangexhaust is down right now, so I don't know if they have sound clips for FRPP catback. Anyway...

    Anyone who has billet grille....

I always thought "billet" implied machined aluminum  I don't think there is a plastic billet. Sounds fishy.

    Ford Racing Catback?

Anybody try this? The price is good ($299 on partshopper), but you gotta wonder about the performance and tone -- tone more than anything else. I would think it would be different from the stock catback. I you use it, what is your opinion?

Fox body springs installed...before and after pics

I've been looking forward to your pics. Looks great! I posted a question about fox springs last week, and I think you helped me decide. Fox springs it is.
