    I have a brake question

It could be a combo of air in the lines and adjustment. Firstly you should check your adjustment. All 4 drums should have just a small amount of drag when you turn them. Often times the adjusters freeze up and may need to be replaced. Then bleed all 4 wheel cylinders starting with the Passenger...

    73 Mustang wont start...

The reverse/neutral safety switch should be under the shifter bezel. It Runs from the shifter under the car up to the firewall on the Drivers side near the power brake booster. 72-73 Mustangs have 2 plugs and a reverse lamp wire 71's have only one plug and a reverse lamp wire. Mine in my 71 went...

Might be able to get a Mach 1!!!

The partial VIN on the block on 71-73 Models is on the drivers side of the block just below the head on the back of the motor. There Should be a tag on the tranny attached to one of the servo bolts if it's an automatic and on the top of the transmission near the front of the tailshaft. If it is...

    1966 wiring harness

The fog light harness was separate from the underdash harness. The originals that I have seen were taped along the original harness. There are kits available from mustang venders.

    Good source for replacement engines?

I bought an engine when I lived in Raleigh from a place called Grimesland. They were in the Goldsboro Area if I remember correctly. They specialize in used engines and trannies. They were reasonable way back when. I'm pretty sure that they are still in buisness.

    Sounding like a mean monster

I use Dynomax. I like the sound but if I was to replace them with a more agressive sounding muffler I would choose the Ravin Mufflers. (I think I spelled it right)

    73 coloum bad?!?!?

The first thing to do about the leak is to check the lines. If the leak is from a line it's a simple bolt a new one in type fix. If the leak is comming from a seal in the gearbox, The first thing I would do is try a seal renewer additive (power steering stop leak). You can find different brands...

    73 coloum bad?!?!?

The 71 - 73 Mustang does have a collaspable steering column. The shaft that connects to the steering box slides in and out. I just finished replacing the column seal on the firewall of my car. Before I reinstalled it , I removed the shaft (By simply pulling it out) and greased it with some...

    Detroit Locker/T-Lock

I think you should go with the trac lock. A traction lock is a friction clutch type posi system. A Detroit locker has a spring / Gear type posi system. Both unlock when turning corners. If you're looking for a road driving system, with the occasional drag, the trac lock is probably the best...

    Still Not Runnig Right

Check your fuel filter Some of the newer holleys have a fuel filter inside the bowls behind where the line attaches. Also The filters are unidirectional so make sure it's not backwards. If that doesn't work, check the float levels. Not enough fuel kept in the bowl will cause it to stall. good...

Does anyone know anything about engines?

The heads can be identified by pulling the valve pan. 289 and 302 are cast into the head. It won't help with the block but will give you some idea. :D

    Engine transplant

The early 289 engines used a 5 bolt bell housing . I think around mid 65. the bellhousing became a 6 bolt housing. I'm unsure if there was a change in the bolt pattern for your 85 block. I know that the 70's 351W and 302 used the same 6 bolt pattern on their bell housings and should bolt up. If...
