Whining Sound Like a SC... But I Don't have One...

It sounds to me like a bad alternator, take a screwdriver while the engine is running and press it against the alternator and push your ear against the handle end. If its bad youll hear it. Good luck.

    Badge removal

I did this on my 99 gt. I filled the holes with some plugs I found at a local hardware store, my car is black and fortunately I found some black plugs. I really dig the clean look of it.

Looking for the accelerator rev mod?????

I did it, I liked it a lot at first but have since took it out. All it is is a 1/2" copper pipe plug drilled to 5/16 in the middle, then stick it in that black hose between the idle air control and that little black box. The reason I took it out is because I found that driving it cold the...

Can you bleed your hydraulic clutch?

Mustangs dont have hydraulic clutches? are you positive? I know my old 89 had a standard "hard as hell" clutch, but my 99 clutch always felt so soft and I just assumed it was hydraulic. If not then how do you adjust it?

    Imagine the new 2005 cobra 427 V10........

If they ever sell this as a crate engine 605hp, 501tq, naturally aspirated, mod motor. With a little shoe horning it should fit in a 99+. Drooling yet? Thoughts? Comments?

    Anyone using rear wheel spacers?

So when using the 25mm (1") spacers, you dont have to shave the factory lugs down a little for the wheels to seat against the spacer correctly?

The few times Ive reset my computer on my car it feels like it has awesome power right after but then a few days later it feels like it loses power and responsivness. Anyone else notice this? Am I being anal?? My mods are just an 80mm C&l maf, k&n, and a flowmaster catback. Its a 99 GT.

    Idle Question

You may have to adjust the throttle position sensor (TPS). I think its supposed to be around .98-.99 volts with the car off, but the ignition on.

Finally got around to that pesky idle........

OK, 01 tru blue, I was thanking you and everybody else in the very first post. Now, after driving the car like this for a couple of weeks Ive noticed something, it sorta stumbles when you take off from a stop when the engine is cold. Which is annoying but Im still gonna leave that cap in there...

    Sputter??

Just a thought, you might try cleaning your maf sensor with some contact cleaner or rubbing alcohol. If you do this use extreme care, its a very fragile part.

    Mercury Eliminator w/Boss 302 vs 00 GT

You kinda have a point, but the 426 hemi is definetly not represntative of every muscle car engine. That thing was an animal just like the Ford 427 cammer. These engines had to be underrated due to the rising insurance rates of the times. But your average 289/302 would be overrated by todays...

    steeda tri-ax or pro 5.0 shifter....help....

I may be a little partial to the tri-ax, being that I have one, but I have nothing but praise for it. I had no noticable noise increase at all, but I did use all the factory sound dampers. Its gives you 2 hieght levels and the 2nd one is perfect. Its night and day compared to the stock joke of a...

    Idle problems

I think what youre describing is normal, mine does it, always has. How low does it actually drop?

Finally got around to that pesky idle........

Thanks for the avatar compliment. I dont have any pics of this, but we really couldnt put it in simpler terms. I think maybe different cars have different tunes fron the factory that conrol the rpm drop rate, aka the dashpot. For my 99 GT it really bothered me how the revs would just linger...

Finally got around to that pesky idle........

My post explains all there is to it. if you drive a 5-speed then you should have noticed that the idle in these cars takes DAYS to drop down. if you havent noticed, cool- go about your day. But if you have noticed and you want to fix it just go to the hardware store and but a .29cent 1/2" copper...
