"No Leak" turned my PS Fluid to water!

I've had a leak for a while now but never needed more than a couple ounces every 2-3 months, until recently. I'm going to swap out to a new rack and some new lines soon but I needed to get through a few weeks and thought I'd give a stop leak type product a try. So I buy "No Leak Power Steering...

    What size exhaust: 01 Cobra?

did the 03/04 cobras fair any better? I'm looking for a cheap, quiet (I'm over my flowmasters) cat-back exhaust to go with the IRS in my thunderbird; will be modded to bolt up to my current 2.5" h-pipe...

    Is the A/C Evaporator-->Reciever/Dryer line 3/4"

Is the A/C Evaporator-->Reciever/Dryer line 3/4"? I was hoping someone with a set of quick disconnect tools could check something out on their a/c system for me; doesn't require actually removing any lines, just placing a quick disconnect tool to check the size of a line: I need to get a new...

    Rear banjo bolt torque spec?

I normally just crank them tight but I currently have a leaking crush washer and the bolt its already pretty tight. I want to see if I'm at max spec or if I can go tighter to see if it seals up. Anyone have this spec? It's an 98 cobra caliper btw... thanks

    03 IRS: Speed sensitive 'clunking'

Yeah. I'm guessing he pulled the Motive gears and put the Ford gears back in without changing any shims. This fricken sucks. I have to move to a new house about 15 miles way in two days and I really needed to drive the car to get it there... Also, here's a video of what it sounds like (not...

    03 IRS: Speed sensitive 'clunking'

No, it's not slack, at least not in that manner. It's constant, not just when torque is applied or removed. As soon as the car starts moving, it begins at a regular interval and speeds up as the car speeds up.

    03 IRS: Speed sensitive 'clunking'

Ok, the quick rundown. Got an 03 Cobra IRS from ebay for my 88 Thunderbird. The owner had 3.90's in it but said he'd put 3.55's back in it for me; he also said it was just rebuilt with a 'master rebuild kit'. The guy claimed he worked at a big speed shop, outfitting cars for drag racing and...

No one lists ball joints or caste nuts for 03 IRS

No one lists tie-rod ends for an 03 IRS....?!? I'm finally getting ready to put the 03 IRS in my thunderbird but I need castle nuts. Doesn't seem like anyone lists tie-rod ends or many parts for the IRS at all. Tried autozone, rock, kragen, napa... Anyone have any idea where I can get these...

San Diego 'stangs with manual steering...

I'm looking for someone in San Diego that has a flaming river manual rack. I'm considering one but I'd really like to see how tough 0 mph steering is (i do a lot of 'pre-turning' u-turns and I like my car to have some ease to it). So, I was wondering if someone with a Flaming River manual rack...

My 89 T5 input shaft compared to 02 input shaft

I know the input shaft lengths were changed at one point. I'm just trying to figure out how my 89 T5 transmission compares to a 2002 v6 T5. thanks

    Companion flange swap, how to?

I've searched everywhere and I can't find good directions on swapping an 8.8 companion flange. I know there is some kind of preload to check first (don't know how though) and that the flange needs to be removed with a puller. I just need to swap my original 8.8 flange onto my 03 cobra irs...

    Suddenly throwing 33, 63, 87 and 96

Ok, I retested the egr with another hand pump and the car stalled before i even reached 5 in of vac. I also checked my tps which was at 1.2v. And I tightened it TIGHT last time. can't believe it moved! Gonna test the egr solenoid next, once I find my test light in all the moving boxes... ugh

What bearings do I order? 03 IRS uprights

I have another question about pressing out the hub. I was able to get my hands on a little 6 ton press but I can't figure out how to use it to get the hub out. I know I need to press on the back of the hub from the back side of the knuckle; so the hub pops out on the wheel stud side of things...

    Suddenly throwing 33, 63, 87 and 96

I pulled vac on the EGR. The motor seemed to keep idle while I was pulling vac but as soon as I released it the engine stumbled momentarily. Could this mean the EGR is ok but the passages are somewhat blocked?

    Suddenly throwing 33, 63, 87 and 96

So, this morning I went out to make some adjustments to my POS bbk h-pipe (hangs extremely low). The only other thing I touched was the passenger side o2 sensor (removed to get at h-pipe nut at header and then replaced). So later, I take it for a drive and all of a sudden, it has a tiny...

What bearings do I order? 03 IRS uprights

you didn't mention pressing the new bearing in. Will the hub seat it when everything is being re-assembled or do you need to use the press for this as well? Probably a dumb question! LOL
