My bet would be the maf sensor needs cleaning. Drop into Radio Shack and pick up some electrical contact cleaner and spray down the maf sensor wires and let it dry. Re-install and see if that works.

I'm not certain about the difference in the model year's speedos, but if you have a digital odo, there is a way you can get it into the diagnostic test and have it show your speed beyond 120mph. I think it is good upto 300mph, like we can go that fast with bolt ons...well, if you bolt on a JATO...
