    Mustang Wins Again

I can compare them becuase the thread is about the racing versions of these cars, not the stock version (go back and check the thread title again in case you're confused). I won't debate over which is better in stock form since there is such a discprepency in cost.

    Mustang Wins Again

Based upon your previous posts I know you aren't a moron but I don't understand why you aren't getting the fact that BOTH cars, while highly modified, are based on the stock vehicles. This isn't NASCAR we're talking about where the cars are just shells on top of a common chassis. I never said...

    Mustang Wins Again

Fantasy land? Isn't that just across the border from denial land???? :D You're correct, you can't compare a $50K car to a $25K car, unless you strip them down to the bare essentials (chassis/suspension and engine) and race them under a very well defined set of rules. So far the racing has...

    Mustang Wins Again

That's correct. All the cars that participate are modified but they all ride on a suspension that's based on the stock cars. That means the Mustang, with it's solid rear axle, is beating cars with an IRS.

    Big Block in a 2005

Yeah, but I prefer cheap and fun. Trying to fit a 460 and a 9" read end in an '05 sounds like way too much hassle IMO. I'd rather mod the 4.6.

No X PLAN for GT Mustangs

There's also an X-Plan program for Ford Employees to give PINS to their friends and families.

    Big Block in a 2005

That was my question. Unless you're building a SEMA show car, there are cheaper ways to get more HP out of the OEM drivetrain.

    First Oil Change?

There is no technical reason to wait. As I said before, I put in synthetic at my first oil change and haven't any issues after 10K miles. I've done the same thing on other cars and never had an issue with them either.

No X PLAN for GT Mustangs

I highly doubt any dealer is getting $10K over stick. $2-3K maybe but no way are they getting $10K. Most '05s are selling at around MSRP now. All they dealers in my area have dropped the over MSRP "market adjustments" all together.

    05 Tranny failure

I'm thinking more in terms of the Rouge Center, which includes both DAP and DTP. The building of DTP was part of the Rouge renovation.

    First Oil Change?

Mobil 1 0W20 is recommended as a suitable replacement for 5W20. But, if you aren't comfortable with that, Motorcraft makes a 5W20 synthetic blend. Someone on Brad's site posted that they found the Motorcraft at Walmart for something like $1.42 a quart. While it's not an '05 Mustang, my Mazda...

    BS or what?

It's so hard to know when a dealer is BS-ing you but my bet is their stretching the truth a bit. We know that the '05 is wildly popular and there is more demand than supply right now, but they've built something in the neighborhood of 40,000 Mustangs since 9/7/04 and early on they weren't even...

    05 Tranny failure

Exactly. No slight against Canadian or Mexican workers and cars was intended. In regards to the plant where the Mustang was built (the Rouge plant): it wasn't shut down but instead has been renovated and now builds F150s. So Mustang production is still in a US Ford plant and the old plant...

    05 Tranny failure

Yes, I owned an 89 Probe and currently own an 04 Mazda 6. Never had a problem getting parts for either. However, I'm not sure what that has to do with the Mustang being built at AAI. Say what you will, it's still built in a Ford plant in the USA by UAW workers and not in a plant in...

    05 Tranny failure

So what? It's still a Ford plant and the workers are UAW. Bottom line is you don't know what you're talking about.

    05 Tranny failure

YellowMach69 doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. AAI is Auto Alliance Inc. It is a Ford-Mazda jointly owned plant (interesting that it's "jointly owned" since Ford is the primary owner of Mazda). The plant also built the last gen Mercury Cougar. The plant is UAW. The Rouge plant...
