    Something's broke with the clutch

You can't put the flywheel on the wrong way. The bolt holes are asymetrically spaced to only go on one way, but marking it will make it easier to line up the holes the first time. Also, get a new pilot bearing while you are at it. It is located in the crank where the small part of your output...

Mono amps can't be bridged-that's correct. You're bridging the speaker.

Need help building a custom sub box for gt hatchback....

I had a 2x10 box for about 8 yrs. Got tired of people stealing it and not having any room to put groceries. So last week I made a box out of 1/2 inch MDF that was 36.5" wide, 6.5" tall and 12" deep, added 1 10" pyramid 300watt sub. I put 1.5 inch feet on the box and have the sub pointing at...

    Motor Mounts

Does anybody have ant idea what the difference is between the 79-83 motor mounts and 84-93 mounts. I have an 83 GT and I want to get poly motor mounts but they only have for 84-93. What's so different? :bang: :bang:  :flag: :flag: :flag:

    Clutch broken?

Thanks for everything. It might be a few days before I get it apart. I'll post back to this thread when I find out what's up.

    Clutch broken?

It's not the quad because I swapped it out and then when I got under the car to hook up the cable I noticed that the fork moved all the way to the front of the hole without any tension. I can't see in the hole because my h-pipe is in the way. I was trying to see if it might be something cheap...

    Clutch broken?

No, the cable isn't broken. I don't know what you mean by the fork being sloppy but it seems like it's still pivoting on the ball stud and has no tension. The clutch probably has about 20-30,000 miles on it and is a Ford Motorsport HD

    Clutch broken?

I'm confused. My clutch started feeling weird about a week ago. I would have to press the clutch all the way to the floor to get it to engage. So I figured a new cable and quadrant were called for. But just as I was moving my car so I could work on it, "SNAP". Peddle to the floor. Cool...

    Wierd vibration/sound HELP!

I'm sorry, I'd check the tire balance first. Then check the driveshaft. I just reread your message.

    Wierd vibration/sound HELP!

If you feel the vibration in the steering wheel it is probably a front tire balance issue. If you feel it in the shifter and not the steering wheel it is probably your driveshaft or rear tires out of balance. I'd check the driveshaft first. Since you had a tranny installed, the driveshaft may...

after market gauges in an 86 lx...please help

Another question. Does the new gauge plate you're ordering come with the blinker lights, hi-beam and e-brake lights? You'll have to tap into those too. Another thing that I did was got a 12 pin and a 9 pin plug from Radio Shack so that i could remove the cluster without having to remove the...

after market gauges in an 86 lx...please help

Zues, all of your factory gauges are electrical. I would suggest going with the electrical gauges for your application. The mechanical gauges really aren't that hard to install and I used to have mechanical water temp and oil pressure. You don't have senders but you will have to run the...

after market gauges in an 86 lx...please help

Alright, I'm not gonna push any products to you. I went with Autometer Ultralites because I thoght they looked cool. Also, I went all electrical because I could still hook them up to the factory harness. What you first need to do is get the Haynes Mustang repair manual from Autozone or...

Installing the Harmonic Balancer!! How do i do it?

One other way to help get it on is to heat the balancer in a pot of boiling water. Make sure to put a good dab of RTV in the keyway on the balancer to prevent oil from seeping through. Hope this helps

    Battery is being drained?

You mentioned that you just installed some gauges and you didn't have the dash entirely back together? If this is true, one thing to check is your factory ammeter. If the ammeter is not connected your alternator will not charge your battery. I know it sounds goofy but the signal wire for...

Anyone with carb setup,, Let me see some Pics!! NEED HELP

It sounds to me like you need the Ford adapter. Someone described it pretty well in an earlier post. It goes between the cap and the distributer. The purpose of it is to keep down spark scatter at higher RPM's. If you can't find one new(I've had trouble finding one), look in the bone yards...

    water pump questions

Thanks C&R, Does your handbook reference the input shaft diameter(the shaft that the pulley bolts to)? I can get a pulley from the local bone yard if need be. My main concern was if it bolted up the same and the inlet and outlet ports were the same. I'll just check them out at Parts America...
