T5-Z doesn't like to shift when hot

I'm using Dexron III. What is clutch drag? I am assuming that means the clutch needs adjustment.

T5-Z doesn't like to shift when hot

I have a T5-Z in my 90 GT that I bought new. Lately, it has been hard to shift into first gear after it has warmed up. While sitting at a light, I usually pop it into neutral, then when I try to shift it back into first, it feels as if I am hitting a wall. If the car is moving slightly, it will...

    loose rear end when shifting

Check your torque boxes. A few busted welds could do that. If so, get Battle Boxes installed and it will cure it.

    What size fitting and hose?

I need some guidance please. I just bought a Ford Racing M-6642-S101 oil cooler. I want to use braided lines and AN fittings instead of the barbed fittings and clamps that came with the kit. The barbed brass fitting is 1/2" NPT. Should I go 6AN-1/2" NPT or 8AN-1/2"NPT? Thanks

    reverse glow gauges wiring

Use a voltage tester and look for the wires that are hot when the lights in question are turned on. It's not as difficult as you may think.

    Anyone running an Accufab FREG?

I just installed an Accufab fuel pressure regulator and it seems that the brass nipple fitting for the vacuum line is too small in diameter to hold the stock Ford regulator vacuum line. The line fits the stock regulator as well as the Kirban I just replaced with the Accufab, so I know the line...

    Instability issues

Today while driving my 5.0 on the highway, I noticed when I accelerated, the rear end seemed to pull slightly to the left. Later while driving on the street, I was cruising at around 40-45 mph in 3rd, took my hands off of the wheel and goosed it a little and it definitely pulled to the left. Any...

    Fuel regulator vacuum

How long should a fuel pressure regulator hold its vacuum? I used a vacuum pump on my regulator and it bled down to zero in less than a minute.

    Fuel pressure regulator bolt size

Does anyone know the size of the allen wrench needed to remove a stock 87-93 5.0 fuel pressure regulator? Thanks

    Intermittent fuel pressure

I did remove the vacuum line to adjust but I never thought of air in the fuel line. I don't have a Shrader valve connected as that is where my fuel gauge is connected to.

    Intermittent fuel pressure

I performed a 255lph fuel pump transplant on my 1990 GT. I have done this operation once before on this same car (with a stock replacement pump) as well as once on my old Aerostar with good results. However this time I have a problem I am hoping someone with be able to help me with. After...

Which fuel pressure regulator to get?

My Kirban went fubar after I changed my fuel pump to a 255lph Walbro (it no longer adjusts the pressure). I have heard mixed reviews of Kirban's, so I am leaning towards an Aeromotive or Accufab as a replacement. I someone has experience with these or any other, please let me know. Thanks.

    Kirban rebuild kit

My Kirban fuel pressure regulator no longer regulates the fuel pressure. I know they are supposed to be rebuildable. Does anyone know if a rebuild kit exists for them? It is for a 5.0L 87-93 Mustang.

    Loose fuel pump

I have just placed a Walbro 255lph pump into the stock Ford pump hanger for an upcoming transplant. After tightening it down, I am still able to rotate the pump. Should that be a cause for concern?
