    Improving Handling

I'll tell you one thing... if you're looking for better handling, then I wouldn't lower the car without also installing suitable struts. Otherwise, you will most likely experience underdamping as so many other people do who neglect to upgrade the struts. Eibach's Pro-System Plus could be a...

    07 Cobra information, specs/prices/due date

Sounds like good news.... I don't know if I'd go all out for the Cobra but the special edition Mustangs like the Mach 1 sure sound nice. Can't wait to see what Ford comes up with.

    My 2005 Shelby GT500

I like the Shelby styling, but it can't stand up to the BOSS: http://home.comcast.net/~tuki12/index10.html :hail2:

How many years from now till we see a NEW bodystyle?

Yeah, my guess is 5 or 6 years. But it will be nice if for the next redesign they keep the essentials in the classic styling. One can only hope.

Alright...fess-up! Who are you trying to impress??

Great thread. :nice: I'm in my 20's, and I have a certain obsession with cars. It's hard for me to say what will be my next car, but that isn't to say that I'm uneducated on what's out there. Just the opposite, I know how many great cars I could choose from, and I just can't make a...

GT- Auto or Manual in the snow?

I dunno... I had a 5-speed manual Mustang, I drove it in the snow and in the rain. I must say that even though you have more control, it's still hard to get traction. I can see how some people might say an auto would do better in the snow. BUT, that still doesn't hold me back from saying that...

    Bone stock goes 13.25 @ 102.85

No doubt. This car could be made into a beast.

    Bone stock goes 13.25 @ 102.85

Are you talking about the manual or auto? Maybe I haven't looked around enough but a lot of the results I've seen with the '05 have been with automatics, so I'm just making sure we're comparing apples to apples so to speak.

i've got poor spatial cognitive skills

I bet I can do it with false confidence, no doubt about that, lol. I want to drive one.

    Tall Men Rejoice!

Very nice. I'm 6'5", and I could fit in my '97 Mustang OK but it was tight and I had to lean my seat back. So it should be nice to have some extra room.

    Spolier or not to spoiler?

If I were to copy styling cues from any car, it would be this one: http://www.musclecarcalendar.com/CarShows2003/MaderaFord/MaderaFord8.htm The subtle ducktail spoiler looks good on the Boss and very clean. I think it'd look good on the '05 too.

i've got poor spatial cognitive skills

Hey, all you have to do is learn the limits. Give the car in front of you a tap when you're parking into a space. Then you'll know you've gone too far, heheh.

numb steering? easy way to get better road feel

I wouldn't have known since I didn't really start to work under cars until after I owned my '97 Mustang. Well, tires may still be one of the best improvements you can make. That numbness could easily be coming from the stock tires.

numb steering? easy way to get better road feel

OK, good to know. Might be worth a try. I'd also try other things that could use upgrading anyways -- specifically, the tires. A stiffer sidewall should make a nice improvement in steering response. Maybe Yokohama AVS ES100's would do the trick. I haven't driven the car myself though so...

numb steering? easy way to get better road feel

So you did this? Can you take a picture of the steering damper and where you removed it from? I'd like to see what you did. And if you remove the damper, wouldn't it make the steering more susceptible to any imbalance? If so, you may have steering wheel vibration problems more often than...

    Spolier or not to spoiler?

LOL, nice comparison. I just like the idea of a spoiler as long as it looks like it belongs. And I'm also an advocate of aerodynamics so my feeling is that downforce is good, and even a conservative spoiler can make a little improvement. And so what if I wear a cape in public? :)...

Another picture of my Black '05

^ Yep, there's some truth to that. My '97 Mustang was black and it was a pain to keep clean. But whenever it was clean, it sure looked good. :)

    Spolier or not to spoiler?

Personally, I think the car needs a spoiler. And the best I've seen would be the integrated spoiler on this car: http://www.mustangracing.com If MRT starts selling that spoiler, I'd opt for a spoiler delete and buy MRT's instead.

Another picture of my Black '05

I really like that color combination. I think Eibach springs, struts, and sway bars would be a nice addition. Then tint, and wider tires. But for now, enjoy your '05, heheh. :nice:

    public apology to Chips...

^ Exactly. And to add to that... I would take a big financial hit if I were to buy a new car, spend a few thousand dollars modding it, and then sell it a couple years later. Not only do you lose money from depreciation, but you barely get any money from those modifications on the car, unless...
