Doh! free CARFAX right now, but...

I've been waiting for another free carfax link, wanted to see what was in it for my 72. Now I learn you cannot get a report on anything older than 1981 without a 17 character VIN :notnice: Lame. *sigh* BTW If anyone wants to run a report on something OTHER than your classic...

Gutting the bumper on a 73' mustang.

No you can't just paint over chrome, and it is difficult to prep for painting. so leaving it chrome is sounding good. Especially after I came across the following pics on cardomain. It's like my car (same wheels too) in the color I've been thinking about (at least this week LOL). Looks...

Gutting the bumper on a 73' mustang.

As far as gutting it, wouldn't that decrease its ability to withstand impact? Sure would suck to hit a civic head on at 20 and have *both* cars crumple like tin rice cans... I've got chrome and been thinking it would look better colored when I paint the car. Then again the chrome isn't so bad...

someone look at their 71-73 351C please, confirm where a wire goes

I found reference to it in a book, called a "Radio Suppression Condensor". The wire for the condensor/cap/whatever was very fragile, it also broke off right at that part. Hopefully autozone stocks them cause I dont want noise in the radio (dont see on website) You guys must have been...

someone look at their 71-73 351C please, confirm where a wire goes

radio suppression condensor I was cleaning misc electrical connections and a wire broke off. I am not positive where it came from... The 4-pin connector to the voltage regulator, just under the solenoid, in the general vicinity of the battery. On this connector there is one terminal...

First I gotta say you must be quite fscking SMART to do what you have done with your car. Don't sell yourself short just because you have less experience with computers. (I'm the opposite, good with computers and a bit of a putz with cars...) Your problem appears to be with the characters...

    electrical.... goofed last night...question

The car chassis itself should be grounded, so I would have to guess the alternator was grounded by its housing being secured to the car. You are very lucky you didn't fry the batteries. Not pretty, explosions and acid showers could have occurred.

    shift kit for an fmx????

um... you might want to look at the AZ website again the prices are from $463.99 to $488.99. PLUS a $200 core charge, so you have to shell out $700 until you return the old tranny and then get your $200 back. Yes it would be nice if the $200 core value came off the unit price but that is...

word of advice if you payed with paypal, do not wait too long before filing a complaint with them. Advice on Body/Paint

I think 2500-3000 should get you a good looking paint job. Respectable enough to tbe admired and put a smile on your face, and not too good where you're afraid to drive it :) The cost of professional body work adds up quick. You really need to check a bunch of shops to get some ideas...
