Carb, timing, or too much fuel??? Roush engine

Overall the engine is great. It grunts!!! It dynoed at 538hp and 524torqe. It is beefy!!! It's an MSD distributor with MSD ignition - no vacuum advance. One more question - what if I got the distributor off by one tooth when I replaced it. Could I ajust with timing or should it be on the...

Carb, timing, or too much fuel??? Roush engine

I do have a pressure guage on the regulator. I did back it down to about 1psi with the same outcome. Timing is not my best talent. In fact, I hate setting timing, but I try. As far as money, I can't afford to take it somewhere now - with the new Roush engine. ;-) I also get the "Run-on"...

    Run-on; Engine doesn't shut off

My engine seems to still want to run after I've turned the ignition off. It only does it after the car is warm. I have an MSD ignition system and the system cam with a small diode to put in line with a wire running to the voltage regulator. That didn't help. Does anyone know why it would...

New Roush engine issues... Please help

The carb is a Holley Street Avenger. The guys at Roush put it on. It has never backfired to my knowledge. I have a guage on the regulator and have back the screw all the way out to where the pressure shows between 0 and 1 with no changes in the carb or smoke out of the tail pipes. Do you think...

New Roush engine issues... Please help

I have a brand new Roush crate engine that has not over 65 miles, granted I’ve had it running more in the shop than on the road. The problem is that I’m seeing smoke out of the exhaust. It appears to be blue/black, but not the really blue smoke you would see if it was oil. I’m thinking its more...

Does the ball stud need to be pressed in or does it just sit in the cradle and then it's clamped on? Thanks for your responce, David

    Power Steering Question on 68

I have a 68 with power steering. Everything is new from steering column to tie rod ends, except the control valve. The control valve, I was told, was rebuilt. I do have some slop in the steering. I put the car on jacks, have my g/f turn the wheel back and forth to see where the play might be...

    68 Wiring Question - GT w/Tach option

Background info: I replaced all my wiring harnesses, but I took the old out 5 years ago. The new wiring harness is for a factory tach and GT car which is what I wanted. The problem is there is a short 3-wire connector from the alternator to the wiring harness near the battery. The wire colors...

    68 front wheel alignment

Thanks for the replys. I did eye it some last night and measured the distance between the wheels, but you know that goes. I live in Hickory, NC. The car will not be driven a whole lot and with that HP, I'll probably we rotating my tires a lot anyway.

    68 front wheel alignment

I’m just now finishing up the final touches on a 6 year restoration project. I’ve put all new (stock) suspension and steering parts. I was wondering how difficult would it be for me to do my own alignment. I’m afraid to take it somewhere what will beat and bang on the parts and chip the paint...

Flaming River steering column - wiring question

Thanks for your responce: One more question. I noticed that you didn't say anything about the yellow wire. Did you hook this to anything? I'm using it to power the FR column, but will the blue wire do the same? The blue wire is the only wire that is not connected to anything. (Blue and...

Flaming River steering column - wiring question

I installed a new FR column and everything fit very nicely, thanks to the guys at Mustang Depot. I’m having difficulties wiring the original wiring harness to the new FR harness. I have everything wired except the turn signals. Has anyone installed the FR column and have some good documentation...

Flaming River steering column....please help guys...

I purchased a Flaming River tilt column and a Moto Lita wheel from Mustang Depot. Everything fit like a charm. I was impressed with Mustang Depot's knowledge of the columns/wheels. I'm not trying to rub it in, but just to let others know. I am having issues wiring mine up. Is there anyone...

    Roush 427R in a 68 Stang!!!

No offense, but what do you mean by "sounds tight"? The 351 is smaller than the 428 that some 68's came with, right? Yes, keeping shock towers.

    Roush 427R in a 68 Stang!!!

I just ordered a Roush 427R which is a Dart 351W block. I’m unsure on which motor mounts to use. I know there are three components to the mounts: engine mounts, insulator, and shock tower mounts. There was no option in 68 for a 351 engine, so when I go to order my 3-component engine mounts, what...

    68 Fastback Window ???

I can't say 100% for sure that they gave the correct kit. I do know that all the pieces other than the bottom piece does not fit right and it was the only one that wasn't labeld where it went on the car. Anyone else have or seen this problem or can give any info?
