    Manual Fuel Pump Vs Electric

The performance did not change, but cranking was reduced... A LOT. After a two week sit, start-up is easy. I turn the key on and let the electric pump run for a few seconds, pull the manual choke, pump the accelerator twice and it fires right up. Before I would have to crank and crank until the...

    Electrical Electrical Question

What year? what color is the wire? A test light or voltmeter could be used and would be pretty easy to verify.

    Help Chosing A Carb

Electric choke models use a heating element in the choke housing that slowly heats and a bi-metalic coil spring opens the choke plate. Manual choke model needs a cable to operate. The vacuum secondary refers to the method that opens the secondary throttle blades - it has nothing to do with...

    Front Blinkers Wiring Issue

On the original harness, The Black/Yellow wire (Marker Light) and the Green/White (Left Signal Light) or White/Blue (Right Signal Light) are together in the 2-wire plugs. The single wire/connector (Black IIRC) is the ground wire which ties in with each of the headlight grounds.

Help Needed - Proportioning Valve For Disc/drum Swap

the pic you posted looks like a combination valve (Metering, Proportioning Valve and Differential Switch) The electrical conection has already been explained, but it's hardly worth the effort to use it. It's purpose is to let you know the pressure in the front or rear brake system has dropped...

    Starter Problems

12 or 14 gauge would be good. Make sure it's protected from the heat where it gets close to the exhaust. Also make sure the ring terminals are crimped good. Soldered would be better. A lot of the times I do both. Here is a link to an old post with some pics of some crimping and soldering...

    Starter Problems

By your pics it looks like its been converted over to a ministarter and the wiring is not correct. here is a diagram that should help: A typical solenoid: Ministarter before and after wiring: The mini starter requires more current to energize the solenoid on the starter because it not...

    65 Mustang Subframe Connectors

Not a cracking sound (we have enough noises in our old Stangs) An actual crack starts at the body where the rear quarter window meets the body. Usually from increased horsepower and body twist. here is a not so good pic:

Efi Fuel Tank From Tanks Inc.

I think my next upgrade will be a throttle body type EFI. I know I'm going to replace my near 50 year old tank and I really like the benefits of having an in-tank pump. Anyone heard of or tried this setup from Tanks Inc? It seems reasonably priced for something that needs only a little...

    Wiring Help

Green with white stripe is for left directional signal. You sure it's not maybe green with a Yellow stripe? That would be part of the courtesy light circuit. It could have been to illuminate the console /shifter indicator?

    65 Mustang Subframe Connectors

I have Global West weld on SFCs. You can feel the difference in the way it handles. And like ogre1964 said, it stops the cracking at the quarter window.

    Need a new radiator, '66

On our classic Mustangs with Downflow radiator design, the inlet and outlet are both on the passenger side. The Waterpump hose connection is also on the passenger side. When you swap over to a crossflow radiator, typically the inlet and outlet are on opposite sides. It’s easiest and cheapest...

Are you checking voltage at the battery? Check at the alternator. It could be a bad connection or weak wiring.
