    05 Mustang, the next classic?

Who really knows the future of retro??? While it is a great question to ask; who knows the future value of retro cars. Will the most current T-Bird be a classic? My guess is that they will be thought of a fine cars to own, but not as classics. Maybe a curiosity in future eyes, when vieiwng...

    05 V6 power potential

There is the problem At 202 HP, as rated in modern terms, it looks like a better deal than the V8 of years past, at a third the gas cost. Well, at least I hope, Ford will get the V6 into the 31 to 33MPG range with the V6. Well that's the way I see it. I am sure many will disagree, and...

    05 V6 power potential

0-60 This is what I found for 0-60 stats: 1996 Civic 9.5 1990 Civic Si 9.31 2000 Civic Si 7.27 1999 Mustang v6 7.3 I don't see Civics as blowing away 'Stangs, as indicated by some posts here. I am sure, some tricked out in any fashion could be a tick faster, but come on now, the V6...

    05 V6 power potential

2/3 HP of GT Could it just be that 2/3 of the HP for the v6 is something which just works well from a marketing stand point? When the GT goes up in HP, or if the insurance costs really start limiting buying of the GT, they can quickly have a V6 producing much more HP. I hope they keep the V6...

    Dissapointed -w- V6?

Just my opinion on that list... A mid-90's Mustang looks great, but has been known to blow head gaskets. Not too many other problems I can think of for that period. Rather low HP in those years. Integra is a finer Civic. Good car, double whishbone suspension. A Civic is less money. If you...

    05 V6 power potential

At 300 HP, the V8 offers a lot of power, but the V6.. The V6 at 202 HP should be plenty enough for driving excitement. It is the over balance of a car that really make it, unless it is just for drag racing. It is possible that the V6 will have something closer to a 50/50 weight distribution...

What size rims do you want on your '05?

Just a fad It's just a fad, like bell bottom pants, I would think. NASCAR uses 15" and they get around the track at 180+ MPH just fine. The 13 and 14 inch are harder to balance, so those are out. When you get into 15, to 17" there is plenty of rubber on the ground and they are at a good...

What size rims do you want on your '05?

Will the madness ever end? Wagon wheels? What will it end at - Wagon wheels. Are we going back to the old wagons of the wild-wild west. What is wrong with 15" or 16" wheels? Loren

    05 V6 power potential

HP 202 OK, so the HP is going to be 202 for the V6. The 289 V8 in a 1965 had 200HP, so what's the big deal about HP? As far as gas mileage, I see no reason that the V8 with a 6 sp. could not get 28MPG rating and the V6 with a 5 sp 31 MPG. Figure in that you normally get about 10% better...

Proof That GM is losing customers

Well if that is the case. I must add that Japanese styling was leaning towards the rounded European look in those years, which was a good thing. From England to Itay, beautiful styles over the years which are rounded, and not chiseled looking. Keep the chisel at Cadillac, I'll take the '94...

Proof That GM is losing customers

What is an All-Asian Mustang you spoke of??? Please explain what the heck an All Asian Mustang is! That year was an excellent advance in style and a more ridged body on the 'Stang. If you need more power for the track, the 5.0, 1994-95, can be modified to your racing satisfaction. The 4.6...

Mach 1 What people paying for a new '04 Mach1?

that's where ya lose the money The trade-in is where you lose the money, and they make the money. That said, someones got to make money at some point in the whole deal. Selling the car yourself is no fun, but is one way to make the best deal net-net. I like that $6,000 one person...

Mach 1 What people paying for a new '04 Mach1?

305HP --300HP Since the new 'Stang GT will have 300HP, the 305 in the Mach 1 is not much of a difference. Any Mach1 on the lot will be knocked way down before the '05 GT comes out. Wish the new one was out so you could look at, and drive both. Who knows if the '05 will be your ticket or now...

    Dissapointed -w- V6?

More than enough Any i4 or v6 car is enough speed and power to get you in serious trouble. Since this is a first car, and you are already talking about nitrous, maybe you should reconsider why your parents don't want you to have an earlier license. We had an incident recently were an 18 yr...

    Dissapointed -w- V6?

Low Insurance You should have lower insurance with a V6. For new cars, you are also looking at pretty low cost = $15k give or take, to get one in a V6. The next generation will be out in the third quarter of this year, and will cost more. That said, it may look better and it has some...

    Buying a mustang

good question Good question. In the past, cars like the Camaro had some plastic ( whatever it is ) used for fenders. Currently, I don't know. I did hear the Saturn is going to use metal on their cars for new models. The cost was higher on plastics, and the fit was hard to get right, so...

Proof That GM is losing customers

$30k BMW start at under $30k - I think I spotted some around $27k on sale at Seaside , CA . I took a quick drive through there on a trip up to Laguna Seca. Best Chevy deal is a used C5 or Camaro SS. I imagine the insurance is very high on the Camaro SS. Actually, I like the V6 3800...
