    V8 starters, revisited

Actually, while it would seem that making parts that fit several applications would make sense in helping to keep prices down on new models...the profit seems to be in parts replacement and service in the auto industry. So, it's little wonder these minor differences in parts occur. Things like...

Hats off to the Founding Old Fogies

Umm..how about..Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sneezy, Bashful, Sleepy, and Dopey, in no particular order? J/K ...I couldn't resist after counting seven. Hope they have a sense of humor!

Headers known to Fit and Hit

I've had both the Hookers and the BlackJacks on a V8 car with stock 4 speed trans. The Hookers fit very well and install quite easily. The passenger side consists of three individual pieces which slide together, two installed from the top if I recall correctly. The BlackJacks required much...

    MPG

It's not so much what your Mustang had in common with the MPG models that made it similarily economical, but what it didn't that kept it from being an MPG model. While all three Pinto body styles were available with the MPG package, few actually got it due to the options that were not...

And here I had thought the hazy skies this morning in upstate NY was on account of global warming and a high dew point.

    Need Vac Diagram

Dano, I have a 58 page Ford 1979 training manual titled "Emission Control changes for 1976-1979." Way too much information (of which I'm certainly no expert at) to get into here, but definatly has a lot of great info that would be pertinent to this topic. While not alot of specific info in...

Nice, but I must be missing something....

I actually like the Cragars. A nice "period" wheel. But, they aren't worth 5K apiece. Must be the '77 dash insert was a 20K option in '76?

    Air Cleaner help

Sounds to me like plentino's got an air cleaner from a 6cyl car. Sal, I would think that air filter would be in demand. Seems to me (from my memory) that it was kind of a unique size and was used for just a couple of applications. I know the oil filter for the 302 sure was unusual at the time!

    hurst shifter

The Hurst shifter that was made for the Mustang II transmission is no longer in production. It was a bolt on replacement for the original, with shorter throws. The original Hurst part number was 348-7960. There was one of these (NOS) for sale on ebay just a few weeks ago, it may still be...

Wheels-Tires Wheel/tire Combos Known To Fit

Chris... Well, this seems a bit of a mystery regarding the finish of the wheels. Let me say first, that I have only seen a "silver painted" version of this wheel. That was what had me asking you about them in the first place, after seeing yours. Furthermore, it seems that an equal number...

Wheels-Tires Wheel/tire Combos Known To Fit

Thanks. Now, you said that you had to "special order" them through Tire Rack. Understandable, since I see that it's not one of the AR styles they have listed and sell, and the bolt pattern would probably not be an in stock item even if they did. But how did you get them polished instead of...

Wheels-Tires Wheel/tire Combos Known To Fit

Chris, They look really great! They also look polished, as opposed to painted...is that possible and are they available as such now? I've been considering purchasing these wheels since last year when they first came out, but have been a little hesitant to order because of the 15x7 size, and...

    The time has come....

You will only be just barely over an hours drive from me, as I'm located a little north of the Syracuse area. Welcome... and feel free to let me know if there's anything I can do, to help acclimate you to the Central NY area, and in your case, more precisely the Finger Lakes region...

    Help needed (weird noise) :)

Yes. In fact, I always change any worn suspension or related components in pairs. If one is bad, you have to figure the other isn't far behind.

I'd say it's probably the result of them sniffing glue and aerosols as children.

Unreal, Like The Dealership (major Duw!!!)

The Maverick caught my eye as well. I had a '76 the same color, with a factory 302 and auto shifter on the tree....lol.
