    Scrap Metal Or Machine Shop

These aren't exotic, one-off pieces. In the end, I'll take them to a machine shop, see what they say. This is just a feeler, there are some good opinions out there.... I'm not even sure you can call this a crack....more like flaking, if that's even metal fatigue terminology.... I might...

    Scrap Metal Or Machine Shop

Day after Christmas I was driving to work....long story short, car started overheating. Applied standard troubleshooting, few hours later pulled the heads off. Found the damage in the associated picture, kinda looks like Florida if you hack off the westernmost panhandle. That's a Nickel for...

    A/c Lines

I found, a few times, worn out O-rings. Twice, and different cars was at a connection right by the pressure switch, line comes off some canister type thing...don't know the name of the line, but the one that goes around the intake and then forward. O-rings were available at Autozone, cheap.

Trans Swap Complete, Driven And Know I Got A Few Questions

Hydraulic clutch operation vs. cable....hydraulic is a lot smoother. That said, you might consider the condition of your cable. I replaced mine a few years ago, and it felt significantly smoother than the original (that was off of a donor car for a t-5 swap). Also make sure your cable is...

No Fuel Pump Power, No Ignition But The Starter Rolls Over??????????????????

Sounds like you have some experience troubleshooting things... My first thought would be the distributor is stabbed wrong....like way out. I'd mess with that...make sure it is plugged into the harness also....When I take the heads off my car, I remove the CCRM and bracket, that's another one...

    Pennzoil Or Mobil 1?

I've always used regular Pennzoil 10w-30....and a Motorcraft FL-1A filter. Never any issues....have had it a part a few times and didn't see anything, cross hatch was still on the cylinders, not even a TDC groove....~150k on the odometer. I change it every 5-6k....put mag plugs in the oil...

Engine 90mm MAF on 94 stroker

not sure it is actually calibrated for 42 lb injectors, but that's another story....you have a 4 pin plug on the stock wiring harness, you can get an adapter from eBAY or Ford fuel injection.com for ~50 bucks....(hooray for 3.50 a day per diem!)...I think the Lightinng MAF's are 6 pin, due tothe...

Anyone ever installed a cam primarily for the sound?

Hobby Shop on Vogelweh still open? That was the better one between that and Ramstein. Me and a friend rebuilt a few engines in there

    Intermittent Misfire

No expert here....but are all of the emissions gadgets removed? I thought if it all was removed, particularly the EGR, you needed a chip or some method if turning it off in the computer....or it would load up. I think I saw that in these forums a few times...... Good Luck

    Pictures of long tubes installed?

The Meister on Vogelweh? He failed you for ground clearance? One of the old Bimmer's I had over there, I could get three fingers under the oil pan, but he failed me for frame to body bushings. Tough old German, until you see him downtown K-town.....then he was a tough old drunk German, that...

    Photo Request: Injector install

Everyone I've ever messed around with moves a bit. When it's all assembled, the injector is sandwiched between the fuel rail and lower intake. The rail is hard mounted to the lower,,,,that keeps it in place vertically, but they'll still rotate. I imagine that's all redundant info to you...

    Oil Level Sensor Location

Drain the oil...see how much you actually have? Never hurts to do an oil change, although its getting pricey these days. I'm thinking airplanes here, but you may try disconnecting the battery/pulling the fuse for the circuit.....I don't have a schematic to look at, but there may be something in...

Proper Dianosis Of A Possible Bad Distributor

To clarify, I meant...with the distributor installed, bolted down and tight, cap off, are you trying to turn the rotor? Hence the plastic part (rotor) sitting on a metal shaft with only one spline engaging the two....and yes there will be some wiggle room in it. Frankly I wouldn't worry...

Proper Dianosis Of A Possible Bad Distributor

Well, that was my .02 on a distributor. However, looking at your sig and now that you mention bucking at low RPM, I imagine your issues are developing from the cam, Maf/injectors. May be an issue with the parts not wanting to play nice together...

Proper Dianosis Of A Possible Bad Distributor

Dizzy refers to the distributor. Pretty simple piece, not much to go wrong with it. Wear parts are the cap and rotor, cheap and easy to replace. Common cause for replacing a dizzy is the PIP sensor going out. Little sensor that tells the computer where the rotor is to reference the firing...

    Lmaf/42lber's/tweecer

Just got back from Afghanistan, have a few days off. Before I left, I did the Fox TB swap. I used a 75mm TB, 90mm LMAF, standard swap stuff and a homemade "CAI". Put it together ran OK, just couldn't get it to idle. Well, it would idle, until the first stop sign then stall. Never could get...

    Performance Mods

Nitrous kit....install it and you could have an easy 1200hp car with nothing else.....it'd only last for a .7 seconds until some chunk of metal flew threw the hood or out of the oil pan....but you'd still be badazz. Really though...assuming a limited budget/clean slate/ and properly...
