This is exactly right. Both PI and nonPI manifolds were made at first with plastic, but when they started cracking, they redesigned the crossover in alluminum. PI is just a matter of power, not cracking.

i have had a carbon fiber bike fork break on me when i was a kid though. I think it was carbon fiber. :shrug: im sure the way they make scarbon fiber for bikes isnt the same as cars or aircraft.

yeah sure enough that was it. I popped the boot out of cyl #4 plug and it was completely wet. I pulled all the wires out, blew the remaining coolant in the hole with compressed air and replaced all the plugs and wires, car purrs like a kitten again.

Non PI intakes have taller and wider runners. ther nonpis were more flat and square. Also a PI intake goes all the way down to the valley of the block, where as a non pi is shallow and leaves a gap. also, your car will pull alot harder than your friends with non pi.

the composite intake isnt that cheap. They are pretty strong and lots of cars, icluding LS1s, use them. Its just that the bullit has a better design. If you run enough nitrous to blow your intake, then the rest of the engine wont be doing too good. the only occasions that ive heard of this...

sounds like you got the same gains I did with my PI intake swap. pretty cool. I was thinking about oing with a bullit intake, but i worried about it not fitting as good since it is alluminum.
