Absolutely as little as possible. I HATE RTV, it is way over used. However, "The Right Stuff" is really good when you do need it.

Unfortunately with either one of those the answer to your original question is probably "NO". In fact any thing you do to try to make it look better is likely to make it look worse. Boiling (which is more commonly called solvent poping at least around here) is pretty common with older refinishes.

A "Trac Lok" ***IS*** a (clutch type) LSD. It is just Fords name for it. If you don't want clutches there is the Detroit True Trac which is a gear type LSD. There is also the Auburn which is a cone clutch type with a well deserved reputation for sucking. :rolleyes:

A marine 351 could be anything depending on year. A lot of the later ones had GT40 heads. they were rated as hight as 310HP.

Did you check for Vaccum at the ported source? When you had the carb off, are the transfer ports in the primarys uncovered? As was said above: You are never going to get this thing to run right until you get it off the mains, the way you do that without having it idling at 250 RPM is...
