    Anyone know the difference in 2.3 and 5.0 shocks/struts?

    The front spindles, rotors and calipers would need to be changed. The 5.0 has a thinner mount at the spindle for the strut. The bonus is you get larger front brakes.

    T5 Swap in progress, ran into a snag

    I just did this swap a few months back. The auto driveshaft is too short and the yoke is different. You will need a DS from a 5sp car, either 5.0 or 2.3 will work.

    Stumped

    Do you have a steel valve cover or aluminum. The steel ones will sometimes distort if overtorqued. after that a new gasket will not seal. Are you using the blue rubber VC gasket with the AL VC?, did you pull the old gasket spacers off the VC before installing the new gasket?
