ecsta supra 712 compared to nt555

You guys are all smoking crack or sniffing burnt rubber. The Kuhmos are the best dam tire for the money and better than most that are more espensive. Mine wear perfectly, are not noisy at all, have plenty of tread left after about 15k miles, and I pull 2.0's at the track every dam time (n/a)...

    Who here has C&L plenum...

I am kinda with JonJon. I have a 75 mm TB and the C&L. Anyway you look at it, it's a lot of money for 10 - 12 hp. UDP's are a better investment or an X Pipe or get a nice dry shot of nitrous. ****, you can buy a nice used kit for $300 - $400 or even less.

    3:55 gears

That is not really a good comparison. You need to look at the final drive ratio which is a combination of gearing and tire and wheel height. The older stangs used smaller tires and wheels which had the same affect of a different gear. So on a 1991 GT, a 3.08 might have been like a 3.55 on a...

Anyone who has any CAI numbers, please come in

Hey, that was really brilliant. I have one too and have done similar tests, but never that organized. I think the fault, however, with this test is that I think the gains would be soo slight even if the CAI gained 8 - 10 rwhp that the g-tech would not even notice it. I have done tests with...

    pinging after plug change

There are different fuel curves for when the car is cold, but as soon as it warms up, there is no difference.

Nothing! Lot's of guys use them!

    pinging after plug change

Man, that's a tough one. The colder weather should help prevent pinging if anything. Those plugs should help your spark, not hurt it. While this sucks, I would put the stock plugs back in and see if the problem goes away. If it does not then it's not the plugs. If the plugs are the...

SLP + Catted X (yes, I did search...)

Emissions? I passed in PA, but it is only visual here. Ca laws are insane. What a dicked up state. Give Anorld a few more years to fix things (I lived in CA for four years). Loud? Well, I have the catback and the catted X. It is not nearly as loud as wiht an o/r X pipe. I was worried...

    Dyno Results

I think dynos are kind of pointless on near stock cars. Now that I have said that, I also think that some gains on dynos shown from certain mods that affect exhaust and intake are only temporary. Many of these mods work by causing the a/f to lean up a bit...that's where the hp gains come...

Pinging in '01 GT, any suggestions on how to cure?

That's actually a good point. I did not realize you were driving a Steeda stang. But, I still think there is something else at work here too as I mentioned earlier.

Pinging in '01 GT, any suggestions on how to cure?

If you are getting detonation, in this situation based on what you just told us, I would look into too things. The first is the TA. That may be you problem. Could the TA setting slipped? You might think you are at 10 degrees, but what if you are actually seeing something much higher...

what's the longest you can go without changing your oil

Just to prove a point: If you were to put 150,000 miles on your car and put Mobil I in each time and did the changes yourself, at $40 a pop, that would be $2,000. If you were to use Mobil I and change oil every 10,000 miles, that would be $600. If you spent 40 minutes doing the oil changes...

what's the longest you can go without changing your oil

Bad analogy. Lots of commercial laundries recycle water. I know this, because I sell systems that do just that. Also, while you are correct about oil getting "dirty" weather it is dino oil or synthetic, synthetic oil is not affected by the loading the same way. It buffers itself against...

what's the longest you can go without changing your oil

Mobil I is good for 12k miles. There is nothing magical about a Mustang that requires you to change the oil sooner than that. This si a topic that was studied about 5 years ago in detail with NYC cabs. They ran all types of oils in many different cabs. In some the oil was used for 60k...

I have 12k on my Kumhos and I can't hear them at all. Maybe it's my SLP exhaust though.

No access to dyno, estimate how much hp/trq?

If you can't take him, you need practise driving. The G35 is a solid 14.5 car. My brother has one. With the 4.10's and your mods, you should be 13.8 ish. or better....even much better with good tires.

anybody running Yokohama AVS ES100 ???

Those are about the best tires you can get for a daily driver. Don't drive in the snow though. I went with Kumhos cuz I was cheap. Actually, I like them though and will get again. I cut 2.0s the first time at the track with them too.
