    supercharger ideas??

    1) How did you manage to add a supercharger for under $1000? 2) Can I do it with my 351W? 3) How much HP can I gain compared to a kit I can buy from Paxton for $3000???

    supercharger ideas??

I'm having the hardest time finding one for a 351W. There are tons for the new stangs, but no new ones.

    supercharger ideas??

Well, it's only been 4 months since I've spent any $$$ on the '70, so I've decided it's time to step up my game. All I really have left to do on the car is the engine and the paint (interior, stereo, wheels/tires are finally done). So...instead of a total rebuild for $10,000 all at once, I...

    DarkBuddha....help???

I've tried using the specialty forum for this favor, but nobody is replying, so I wondered if anyone could use photochop to show me what my car would look like with a different coat of paint....preferably a dark gray or black?? Thanks for anyone with more skills than me that's willing to try...

    new wheels

i know i know...enough pics already...sorry, but I had to do the car justice! This is the look with the shocks in back raised to normal height. They'll go about 4 inches higher (if I ever need to get those slicks squeezed under there)!

    new wheels

I think they work on 69-70 because the lines of the car are sharper than the earlier stangs and the wheels (to me) have a similar look. To each his own...I knew these would stir interest and be different (at least for now) and that's why I did it.

    another license plate thread

Because 7D3mach had such luck with his thread, I thought I'd give this a try since my pony will be turning "antique" this January and I'll need a personal plate. The car is a 70 fastback with a 351W and it's sort of a restomod project. Here are a few of my thoughts so far. I think I'm allowed...

    new wheels

I forgot to mention that I lowered the air shocks in the back as much as I could to make sure that everything would clear when I hit a bump, curb, etc. I got the tires shined up and pumped the shocks up to normal so it sits about an inch higher in back than in front. I'm at work now, but I'll...

    new wheels

OK, I think I got the hang of it...here are a couple more. Sorry the first 2 are so blurry, I messed with the size too much and lost the quality. the fronts are 215's and the backs are only 235's but there is tons of room back there. The second pic is of the back tire in the fender. It comes...

    16" '05 Stang wheels on my '66?

I just got back from the tire shop to test fit these exact wheels on my '70 fastback. Unless the 65-66 is different for backspacing, the '70 needs at least 1-3/4" adapters (if not 2") to make them fit. We held the new wheel up to the front hub and 1-3/4" will allow enough room for turning...

    '05 wheels on '70 fastback

I've wanted to do it since they first came out, so I guess I'll be the guinea pig. Once I get everything to fit I'll post some info on adapter size, tread size, etc. I'll try to get some pics if I can figure out how to put them in my threads. Thanks for all the help guys.

    '05 wheels on '70 fastback

I just got in touch with the tire store and they're gonna take a look at the wheels under my car before they help me decide on adapter size and eventually tread width. Thanks for all the advice guys...by the way DarkBuddha, what's the difference between complicated and complex???? :shrug...

Just getting a 66 and wondering about wheel size and tires

So with the 16" wheels, what's the widest you can get in the back without fneder rolls or tire rub??

    '05 wheels on '70 fastback

Let me just make sure I'm doing this right...do I measure the backspacing of the new wheels and subtract the backspacing of the current wheels to find the width of the adapters I need...if so, it looks like I'd need about a 2" adapter. I was hoping it'd be smaller than that. Is this right??

    Finally got new wheels!! backspacing???

That's exactly how I got the backspacing on my new wheels, I just don't have it for the ones on my car cuz I don't really have a way of taking them off the car. It's a '70 fastback, so I figured the 16" wheels would fill out the fenders a little better than 15's.
