Having same problem here also with 96 cobra t/o bearing 8000 miles and it's squeeking. Nobody seems to be able to pinpoint the problem. I'm lost here myself, and hate changing them,specially with longtube headers. Oh well hope we get an answer someday :shrug:

new 04 motors are going for 10-11k if you got the money there great, if not you can get a replacement for around 6-8 grand, I had a problem with mine,just tore it down replaced rods with manley and pistons with JE, .o2o bore, some 99 dohc heads and cams, and intake, she runs like a scalded dog...

Hey you will need to get an alignment done after replacing struts, unless you can get everything exactly where it was,which is usually impossible. It can throw your caster and camber off. I would be safe and get one to double check after your done. just a thought :shrug:

have a 96 cobra,steeda triax, and cobra clutch kit, was in car when I bought it. my question is I have noticed a squeaking sound after car gets warm,goes away when i rest my foot on the clutch the noise stops, was thinking it might be a throw out bearing or something any ideas? also the other...

I have bbk longtubes, bbk x pipe and flowmasters,it definetly is pretty loud driving around town, I'm thinking of going to something a little quieter for driving but screams when u get on it. oh 96 cobra here also congrats on the snake dude!!! :flag:

I have the same noise in my 96 cobra, some people say it could be the timing chain tensioners,had one guy tell me it was the forged pistons I have slapping the bore when there cold,but I notice the noise damn near all the time, although it did get a little more prominent when I changed the oil...

I bought the steeda 23 tooth gear and installed it in the tranny, my speedo is still off by about 10mph, does anyone know what gears I need to correct this problem? or do I have to break down and buy a speedcal? Thanks guys Brian :shrug:

:shrug: I have a 96 cobra that has a set of 4.30 gears in the back was wondering if anyone knew what gears or where I can get them, to recalibrate the speedometer so it reads correctly. I only drive it once and awhile on the street. Any help would be appreciated. thanks Brian
