Mustang II Front End in 1967 Swap

I agree to a point, the addition of tubular "stock" style parts is a big upgrade over stock, but I think they are more of a bandaid. And who would shell out the cash for a MII front end and get stock brakes? I had factory discs and they were nice, but my 4 piston Wilwoods are nicer. Also...

Mustang II Front End in 1967 Swap

I've got TCI's Mustang II kit in my '70 Mach, and WOW what a difference over stock. I am very happy I did it, and the extra room in the engine bay is so so nice. If I didn't have a shaker to worry about i'd be doing a twin turbo setup right now on her with all of this extra room! lol

Update, first time down the track

I will have to check my dyno sheets when I get home for the tq, but peak hp was at either 6k or 6100.

Update, first time down the track

I left the swaybar off when we installed the MII kit =P I'm wondering too if I pull the converter out and have them redo it for 3500 from 3000 if it will help the launch much. But overall I'm impressed with it, seing as its a stock shortblock 351w. Now my wife wants to run her shelby...

Update, first time down the track

Yeah I agree there's a lot left in the 60ft. I'd be happy to be down in the 1.5xs. I've got cal-tracs, mono-leafs and rancho shocks out back. The driver mod is going to be my best bet for now =P It was my first time running an auto down the track, and it was pretty fun to be honest, kinda...

Update, first time down the track

Well its been awhile since I updated anything. I last posted that my engine made 454 hp and 431 tq, but hadn't finished the car yet. Anywho, sunday night I made three passes in her finally! 12.01 @ 115 with a 1.82 60ft 12.01 @ 114.8 with a 1.81 60ft (spun coming off the line) 11.83...

    Dyno results!

My guess is that the torker actually makes less than the victor and the wieand stealth. I'd go with the stealth over the torker. But with that said, my car with the setup mentioned, and 4.11 gears did out run my folks '06 400 hp vette pretty good

    Dyno results!

As far as hood clearance goes? Thats the only problem I see with running a victor jr and a shaker? The TCI mustang 2 front suspension I'm told lowers the motor 2 inches or so from factory location. We are putting the motor back in next weekend so I haven't tested this. If it doesn't fit...

    Dyno results!

Yes and yes. Actually had it in the car for the last 5 years or so like this...with the only change here now being changing from a torker II to a victor jr. intake manifold. We just installed a TCI mustang II front end on it, so I figured while it was out I'd have it dyno'ed.

    Dyno results!

Ha ha good call on the torker...its actually a victor jr. now. Everything else is the same motor wise. This was done on an engine dyno. Not a chassis dyno. Chassis dyno will come hopefully in a month or so, once we get the car back together, i'm curious as to how much power the c6 robs.

    Dyno results!

Yeah Im excited. We just finished installing TCI's mustang II front end kit, so hopefully the engine, transmission (going C6) and rear end (going mono leafs and cal tracs) will all go in this weekend. Maybe a little giggle gas too...

Anyone have a Steering Box Laying around???

I got my u-joint from flaming river, great quality and they knew the spline when I told them what car I had, and that it came with p/s.

eastwoods fender lip roller(have you used one)

I cut a bunch of slits in the fender lip, and then carefully hit it with a hammer while holding the outside of the fender. Worked great.

    Coil spring compressor

Be very very careful! I just had the pins taken out of my pinky yesterday from a coil spring accident. I used the internal one, and it failed on me when I was putting the spring back in. One of the clamps bumped on the inside of the fenderwell and somehow the whole thing released. Now I...
