No Longer will I Fear The Gear

mod motors love gear. 4.10's or 4.30's work very well. my buddy's blown 03 has a set of 4.10's and it's perfect. it doesn't spin like crazy and it's got power in every gear, even staying out of the boost. definitely not like a blown 5.0 car with gear.

I'd like to hear from some centrifugally blown daily driver owners.

it's a simco gauge cluster and the autometer dash pod. they look killer at night, the faces glow a nice, soft green. he also put a set of mach 1 front and rear seats in it, much better than the stock gt leathers. i don't think i'd touch the motor at all, i'm sure it's near the edge of what the...

the car in question got 20mpg on the trip to the beach and back. mostly highway, but a good bit of sitting in traffic as well. that's with the 4.10's. ;)

really it's just keeping the oil, coolant and plugs changed a little more frequently, not a big deal. but maintaining it also mean not beating the snot out of it constantly. thanks for all the input fellas!!

it was tuned via data logger, not on a dyno. it's a pretty safe tune at that. it is a good looking stang. nice and simple, not overstated or ricey at all.

thanks guys. i'm not worried about a warmup and i drive all backroads to work, so i never need to mash the throttle. my mark is typically fully warmed up about 1/3 of the way there. the way the car runs, you never need to hit boost to get it rolling pretty good. the price is really right and...

It's a solid 11 second car, which is plenty fast for DD duty and having a little fun with. Not too much, not too little. Just right. :)

yeah, and the best thing about the car is you never have to hit boost to do some spirited driving. i drive it 250 miles round trip to the beach and only hit boost a couple times. once to smack a trans am in the mouth and once to walk another stang. the boost gauge rarely ever gets beyond 0/0...

Cool. It's a fairly safe tune and I'm pretty religious about my maintenance. Thanks for the input!!

My buddy is selling his Vortec blown 03 GT. Engine wise, it's boosted with an aftercooled S-Trim @ 10 psi, Anderson power pipe, TWO bypass valves (Vortech engineered it this way, I've never seen it before, but it sounds EVIL when you stab the throttle) C & L upper intake plenum, Professional...

    rear main seal

no, sealant won't work there because of the movement of the input shaft. i've always installed mine using a flat body hammer gently tapping it in all the way around. mine have always leaked on both of my mustangs, i've just kind of accepted it. mine's not too bad though, i usually only have a...

    EGR Removal - 1994 GT

that does work until you have to disconnect your battery for whatever reason. i had no code until i did this. once the computer has re-learned everything, i'll unbolt the sensor again.

    rear main seal

you might just have one of those stangs that the rear main will always leak. i've replaced mine 3 times and finally just said the hell with it. it's a very common problem with the 5.0.
