Would a bad U-joint account for slop in the driveline? When I let off the Gas and then step on it you can hear a kind of a thunk. How would I check for a bad U-joint?

I haven't tried letting off the gas at the speed where the vibration is at, but if I maintain a constant speed it is there. Now if I slow down or speed up it will lessen until the next point where it vibrates. 72---->65 or 65---->72

It is hard to say, but the whole car vibrates. The engine idles smooth and I don't hear any pinging or knocking.
