    Heater Core Help

Nope, but we flushed out the plastic resevoir because it was full of junk. They also say it's been flushed every time it's been there, but...and I know this is hard to imagine at this point...they've been lying to me about flushing it.

    Heater Core Help

Don't think they were reversed. Seems like that would be hard to do, but I guess I can check that out when we install the new ones.

    Heater Core Help

Well it has the factory hoses on it with those stupid clips. I just ordered a new set because I had read somewhere else online that they'd changed. The car has 85000 miles on it and I guess the problem started about 10k miles ago or so. I think the inlet hose was actually broken and that's...

    Heater Core Help

Hey guys, got a 2001 Mustang GT here that is now on heater core number six in two years. The Ford Dealership was nice enough to say they weren't going to warranty it this time so I get to put in another one. They did say they'd cut me a deal at $800 and I'd have another one year warranty on...

What would that do for you?

    Heater Core Question

Hey guys, quick question here. I've got a 2001 GT (automatic if that matters) and it's about to be on it's third heater core. We took it in last winter because anti-freeze was puked all over my feet (and I was wearing sandals) so the dealer said that Ford had some problems with them and they'd...

    Bassani Exhaust

I think it's just excess fuel or fuel that didn't completely burn exploding in the exhaust. I've never heard a stock system do it, but every aftermarket system I've installed does it. I used Borla (because I'd never heard anything good or bad about Basani) and it does the same thing...except...

97GT still pings like a bastard

Sometimes fuel pumps ar all or nothing, but sometimes they're not. I had one in a Jeep that had a bad check valve so it wouldn't hold pressure but it would still pump just fine. The problem was letting off the gas felt like something was pulling you backwards. Driving on the interstate was...

97GT still pings like a bastard

So what are the best plugs to get? I'm assuming Mike has the part numbers? Mine is pinging a little too, but I assumed it was because we're getting crappy gas here. Mine is an 01 GT auto.

What fluid for the rear end of an 01 GT?

Does it have to be the Xl-3? Or is it something I can get the equivalent of at an auto zone?

What fluid for the rear end of an 01 GT?

Yes, thanks very much for the tip...and the help.

    gatorback belt??

Same here. I use the Gatorback belts on everything here. I used to be a big believer in Goodyear until I ran two sets of their truck tires. Their truck tires are the worst things you can buy. I don't know that the Gatorback is necessarily the best belt, but look at the diagonal cuts in it...

What fluid for the rear end of an 01 GT?

I'm coming up on 60k miles here and that's when Haynes says to change the differential fluid. The only problem is I couldn't find what type to use. I'm assuming it's gear oil with a no-slip additive. Does anybody have any recommendations on what's best and what sucks?

    transmission fluild

Make sure you get the Mercon V. That's what the dipstick and the owners manual say to use. Mobil 1 has a new Synthetic ATF that is Dexron III Mercon V I believe. I used it, and not that you can tell a difference it seems to be working fine. Gas mileage came up a little bit on the new...

Upgrading to Cobra Calibers and rotors

The slotted rotors don't warp as easy. I would say they don't warp but as soon as I do someone will post pictures of a warped pair. I put them on my Jeep and I think it cut the stopping distance down by 10 feet. I was considering doing this same thing, because you can buy the rotors and pads...

Best way to go on brakes?

I think he's just selling what he has rather than answering the question honestly. I'm not saying that's right, but that happens a lot in mail order. Just don't every ask Edelbrock a tech question. I think those guys just make up something that sounds good to them. Nevermind I could get a...

Best way to go on brakes?

Okay, just to confirm I called Steeda again and he said not to go with a Bullitt upgrade because it is the same as the GT brakes, just a nice red color. He did say the Cobra brakes were different so I'm not a total moron, just a partial one.

    Auto Transmission Problems

svt, I even checked the Hanes manual and it says "drop transmission pan, replace filter, add appropriate fluid. Your 4.6L Mustang holds 12.1 quarts of Mercon V." If that's what they went by it could be too much fluid. However, for humors sake, my last car had instructions that read something...

Best way to go on brakes?

Not to sound like a moron, but I'm pretty sure I called Steeda and they told me other than the calipers (painted red) there was no difference in the GT and Bullitt brakes. Is that true?

    Auto Transmission Problems

It could also have too much fluid. After I had mine serviced they added too much fluid and it did the same thing. I didn't know what the problem was until it started puking fluid out the dipstick hole. Make sure it's level and check the fluid. The system holds a total of 12 quarts but when...
