Answer to the noise and vibration for Cobras

How much does it kill the noise?

Cross Drilled and Slotted Rotors Which ones to choose from?

No you don't - go do a search at www.corner-carvers.com on cross-drilled rotors. Basically all show (BLING BLING) and no go - they solve a problem that no longer exists (brake pads gassing off and the gases needing some place to go).

Can I drive a 2004 Cobra in the snow?

96 GT really sucked in the snow - minor grades (< 2-5%) would result in wheel-spin fishtailing if you weren't careful. If you got stopped on one of those - good luck getting going again because that rear would just slide to the side. I did it all winter, but it wasn't fun. The days it looks...

New 99 Cobra Owner! Few questions...

Congrats! You sound as I excited as I am to get a Cobra! The oil question is one I would like to see (definitively) answered. I've heard Mobil 1 5w30, Motorcraft (5w30? 10W30?), Amsoil 5W30, and even 0w20 (can't remember the brand - Amsoil I think). What everyone seems to agree on mostly, is...

    we're confused

Sounds like a sticking idle air control that unstuck. I had exactly the same problem one time on my 96 GT. Didn't happen for a long time afterwards, then one day I started it and it wouldn't stay running unless I stayed on the gas. A couple hours later it started and idled fine. I replaced it...

99 Cobra- Red or Black?! Help me choose

My vote is for red (but then my 99 is Rio Red so I might be biased) :D The GT I had prior was black. I was tired of black when I got the Cobra. Someone commented that it looks amazing in red - REALLY liked it. Still, that 5000 miles is TASTY. Car is almost brand new. Does it still have...

    Regular Unleaded Gas Question????

That's why they can get away with it - not many cars require 89 either, but the driving public doesn't know that higher octane isn't necessary if all your car calls for is 87. I get a kick out of watching people fill up with premium thinking they're getting a great deal! I can't recall how many...

    question on ohms

You could run two speakers in parallel/channel on a 2 ohm stereo stable amp (if you have 4 subs). Each channel would see 3 Ohms. With both channels that would yield 4 speakers (2/channel). You will lose ~1-2 db because of the increased resistance (and therefor decreased power). Probably not...

    Regular Unleaded Gas Question????

Hope I didn't come across strongly - I knew you weren't going to do it, but those are the repurcussions. I think my SVT supplement says 91 or higher - too bad no one around here sells 91 Octane (93, 89, 97) - probably less expensive. I found a place here in Columbus, OH that is running a...

    Regular Unleaded Gas Question????

From what I understand pinging and detonation (VERY BAD). The computer will adjust to compensate and the car will run like crap. Oh, and the stupid check engine will probably come on and glow at you until your eyes fall out. I think shortly afterwards, it will be followed by a tidal wave...

    Let's say for example, a stock '98 cobra w/69K....

That does seem a little steep. I just bought my '99 Cobra Coupe for 13,500 (all stock). If I had seen the car modded (especially if I new it had a heavy duty clutch), I would figure the owner was beating on it and walk. I prefer to do the mods myself (and then I'll drive it hard). Maybe...
