    I'm in the middle of installing the shifter! Need some help.. It says NOT to install the rubber boot that was attached to the factory shifter!? If I leave it out won't dirt & $hit get into the shifter/transmission?

    oops lol I ment the passenger side. One more thing - the passenger side gasket has a small lip on one side and a bigger lip on the other side. What side faces the exhaust manifold?
