Swapping in a PI intake in a 98??

unless someone else besides livernois is making them now, they are more than 100 i believe. I swapped the PI intake on my 98 without the adapter plates. You have to be very careful and deliberate when reinstalling everything. Be sure to use a very good sealer and use it in all the right places...

any stock auto gt's go track? what #'s?

ShadowBok, You asked the question of how the guy could have a time that much faster while only having one MPH faster. Well you basically answered that question for me when you stated that you had some wheel hop. The other guy probably hooked up better than you did. This also explains why you...

No limited slip in my v6.....

easy way to test out your rear end to see how well it locks up during wheel spin is to stop with one tire on pavement and the other on a gravel or grass shoulder. Power brake or dump the clutch and if the tire on the road squeals then good chance you have the limited slip rear end. Jake

Lower 1/4 mile times, 4.10's or PI headswap?

Do the PI swap. The extra horses and compression will give you enough bottom end to hold you over on the gear swap......for a while. Jake

Long tube headers, If you have them step inside.

yea i was just hoping it could be done that way. Looks like i'll be pulling the passenger side off. :(

Long tube headers, If you have them step inside.

I'm wondering if it's possible to change my clutch just by taking the tranny loose and sliding it back some without removing the headers. If anyone has done a clutch change with the headers in place please let me know how it went and if you think it was a good idea. Jake

Screamin Deamon coil packs...Yay or Nay??

I think if that even if the only things i get out of it is a smoother running engine and better gas milage, they are still worth it. Thanks for the responses guys and if anyone has them and has had negative experiences with them please speak up. Jake

Screamin Deamon coil packs...Yay or Nay??

Well my car has 95k miles on it and i've already changed out the plugs and wires on it. I'm thinking about changing my coil packs b/c i can detect a slight miss in the engine when under load. I just did a PI head swap and i had the miss before and after the swap. I'm going to change my coil...

    Oil Pan

no you can't just go under and slide it out. it has a slight front sum that prevents this from happening. Therefore you either have to drop the k-member down or raise the engine about 4 inches. Jake

    Clutch noisy but NOT slipping

:rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh:   Now that's just funny. BTW anyone else having problems with the threads and stuff on the forum coming up nearly off the page on the right hand side? I think it's got something to do with that university of pheonix ad. Jake

    Oil Pan

i just replaced mine. Get the FRPP pan if possible. It's $33 vs. around $100 for the OEM pan. I beleive you just have to jack the motor up a few inches if you planning on just changing the pan. When i dented mine i went ahead and pulled the engine and swapped heads and installed long tube...

    Carbon on pistons???

if you don't need the higher octane then the fuel burns slower and this may cause the carbon build up

    Check Engine Code P1132....

I'm not sure what to clean them out with. I wonder what is it about the headswap that is causing this code to be thrown. I really need to get this thing straight so i can get my inspection sticker. jake

    Clutch noisy but NOT slipping

I'm kinda having a simular problem. Mine kinda sounds like a diesel engine running until i push in the clutch pedal. Then the noise stops all together. Had a couple people tell me it's probably my throwout bearing, but i'm not to sure. I'm wondering if something is loose that is tightening up...

Pulleys? Anyone with good or bad experiences?

I can't see why they would damage the a/c. The a/c pulley doesn't change at all. it's still the same belt running on the same pulley. I bet someone had a bad a/c that went out right after they installed a set of pulleys and tried to blame the pulleys for messing up their a/c. Otherwise i've...

    Check Engine Code P1132....

I just had my codes pulled today and i remember them saying something about the fuel air meter too. I also recently just swapped my heads. I think mine was 2 different codes. One for the O2 sensors and the other for the fuel air meter. If someone knows more about this please post Jake

    mil elims

They eliminate the Malfunction Indicator Light(Check Engine) that comes on when the catalytic converters are taken off. I think the front O2 sensors are causing mine to come on now that i have long tube headers. Jake

    mil elims

Should MIL's be put on the front set of O2 sensors? or would this cause the engine to run bad?

    Can't find any plastic CAI's

cavallo, did you feel a difference once you installed the volant. That's the intake i want to get. I had one on my ford ranger before i totaled it and i loved the fit and finish of it. How much did it set you back money-wise? Jake
